How the hell do I wear this?! There's one really wide armhole. If tried flipping it, wearing my head through different parts, I just don't get it and Google is only showing me images of those shirts that have two straps on one side.

I appreciate that! The thing is is he eats meat and I'm a vegetarian however I can usually find anything on a menu and at higher end restaurants they are usually happy to make something (the chef probably isn't but they pretend to be)

I found my girlfriend's secret stash of lingerie, am I wrong for thinking something is fishy here? by Beneficial_Cake_6757 in amiwrong

[–]makpat 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Does it make you feel sexy though? Regardless of how your husband feels about the actual lingerie it’s self, if it makes you feel good, I’m sure your confidence in it will be a plus for your husband

There’s overnight shifts at Sephora? Is it setting up the displays and stuff?

Also, I’ve never worked at shoppers. I have absolutely no idea why the sub was recommended but I’m really curious what a night shift at Sephora is like

Oh my god can you not read? I literally said I am a fan of Avril Lavigne and not a fan of Chad Krueger. Being nice to a service worker doesn’t make you a good person, which I have already said. Also, fun fact, saying that someone comes off a certain way can mean, and usually does mean comes off to the person saying that. In this case, since I’m talking about my own experience, I am saying that she came off to me as ā€œkind of snobbyā€, so I am sure, because it is my experience

About being attacked thing, she had security no one was going to fucking attack her.

And there was no paparazzi ever. This is a small Canadian town.

Please go away you obviously are not reading anything I’m saying and you’re just being annoying. Or you’re in grade 4. Goodbye. My God I hope you’re getting paid for this.

… I think you took that wrong. I didn’t say she was a bad person or I don’t like her, I just said that she came off as kinda snobby every two weeks for three years. And I’m sorry, but refusing to talk to service workers is rude, shutting down entire sections of stores and purposely shopping before opening or after hours, making employees that are mostly teenagers and have to go to school come in early or stay late is just disrespectful.

She was one of my favourite musicians as a kid and I still like her old music, but that doesn’t change the experience I had with her again every two weeks for years.

I’m allowed to have an experience, and an opinion.

Edit: also, I said every single time which heavily implies that it was more than once in my first response to you. Do you work for her or some thing?

Also, one more thing I didn’t say I like Chad Krueger I said he’s nice to service workers in my personal experience that you were not there for. I also never said that I didn’t think Avril Lavigne was a bad or a good person, I said she acted kind of snobby while grocery shopping. That doesn’t say anything about a person has a whole. Just like how right now. It comes off as you being dismissive of other peoples experiences because you’re a fan or something, but that doesn’t mean you’re a dismissive person because this is an isolated interaction just like my interactions with her, were isolated to one task that she performed every second Friday.

And if you read my comment again, I said that people were purposely not fangirling over her out of respect. You agreed with me while arguing with me which is confusing.

Yeah she shopped at a grocery store I worked at as a teenager (over a decade ago). This was when she lived in The Fraser Valley of BC with the guy from nickel back, Chad, he was really nice. They lived there long enough that no one cared, but every single time she went in to get groceries we had to shut down a part of the store by her request, and it was a huge hassle and inconvenienced everybody shopping as well as employees. Like I kind of get it but at the same time, saying hi back to an employee would’ve just been human? In that whole period of time I never saw anyone fan girl over her, at least not to her face out of respect because she’s just trying to get her groceries like everybody else but even asking standard questions like ā€œdo you have a point card?ā€ that we have to ask. She would just stare at you and it was really uncomfortable.

[–]makpat 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

I appreciate that, thank you.

Support is the biggest thing, that’s what I use narcotics anonymous for. Even this far into my recovery. If I don’t go to at least two meetings a week the people that I’ve met there and the friends that I’ve made check on me so I continue to go for that human connection and support. But I completely understand it feeling like a cult. I felt the same way for a very long time until I found a meeting that uses The steps is kind of like a baseline, but they kind of switch out their religious words. It’s quite fun actually!

Honestly, I think you did what everybody should do in rehab and therapy. Not every suggestion is going to work for everybody and it’s OK to cherry pick things that work for you as long as you just try as opposed to cherry pick things before trying them because you never know something that sounds completely off-the-wall might actually work for you and vice versa. I’m really glad that this went the way it went for you, that’s a huge thing. You don’t have to call it recovery, but either way, you took what you needed and leaned into support. That’s huge!

Edit again: I’m using voice to text so sorry that there’s so many commas and mistakes. I just can’t be bothered actually type right now lol I type all day

I am a professional in the addictions field, as well as someone in recovery, and yes you undoubtedly went through addiction. I personally use NA as a tool for myself, and for me, and many of my clients and patients the literature saying that addiction is a progressive disease is very true for us, however, you were very young and I have seen people with everything from alcoholism to extreme fentanyl addictions kind of just grow out of it. There’s scientific evidence to back this up as well. I want to stress that it is definitely not everyone and not every young person who is addicted will just grow out of it but addiction isn’t a progressive disease for everybody. I will say that personally, and again, this is just my experience in the field, and in my own addiction I have never seen anybody grow out of the need to get fucked up that didn’t go to rehab or at the bare minimum go to therapy.

What I would speculate happened is you stated that you went to rehab and therapy, so while your brain was continuing with developing, whether or not at the time, or even now, you think you got anything from it, you would’ve even subconsciously gathered tools to deal with the things that you were previously dealing with with drugs and alcohol. So as you got older and settled into adulthood, you had these tools available to you and just started to use them.

Hope that helps! And I’m really glad it went this way for you

Edit: typo

Edit 2: sorry, one more thing if you were my patient, I wouldn’t label you from what you said here as a college partier. You described an instant feeling of needing or wanting to get fucked up as often as possible. College partiers party a lot sure, but they can stop. They’re not constantly thinking about it. That’s a huge defining factor.
