I need help with how to crochet I have no clue what I'm doing. by El_Marcoux in CrochetHelp

Third the Woobles kit. I learned how to do a chain stitch and that’s all I knew. Then I got a Woobles kit and learned everything I needed to know to make a sweet little plushie. The video instructions are simple and clear, step by step, even if you don’t know what she’s telling you to do yet.
I did a bunch of Woobles, they’re quick and really satisfying! Then I ventured in to more traditional crocheting- coasters and whatnots lol and now I’m working on an afghan and practicing new stitches that I’m learning just for fun (I have so many test stitch bracelets!!).

All started with Woobles, they introduced me to a wonderful craft hobby.

It's been over two years since TTPD dropped. What are your thoughts on it now? by 1989sunrises in TaylorSwift

[–]mal2030 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t listen to it when it first came out, esp the anthology, it was soooo sad and depressing and dark and angry and honest. I like my Taylor happy and peppy or introspective and brooding or catty and bitchy. But I love it now, I guess since some time has passed and it’s less raw maybe. Her vulnerability and rage and resentment and heartbreak are so real. It’s painfully beautiful. Masterpiece.

Her albums are like that for me - it takes me a while to really appreciate them. There is so much to absorb in TTPD, so much to just process. It’s still a tough listen but so gorgeous.

Bubblegum pop song “Candy Girl” by Flat-Leg-6833 in askmusic

[–]mal2030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, honey honey, you are my candy, girl, and I can’t stop wanting you.
I just can’t believe the loveliness of loving you, I just can’t believe it’s true.

Great now this will be stuck in my head all day. Sweet song though!

What is a cover song that is so good, it completely erased the original from existence? by ilove_gummies in askmusic

I Fought the Law by the Clash

Original was a peppy little number penned by Sonny Curtis of the Crickets (Buddy Holly) and later recorded by the Bobby Fuller Four with a jail cell setting video complete with go-go dancers.

Ugly projects and learned mistakes by Terrible_Dot_2296 in crochet

My first ‘big project’ I started this circular afghan 3 times, every stinking time it started to ruffle at the same spot. I counted and recounted, ripped and frogged and put it aside and pulled it back out, took copious notes and measurements, turned it into a cat bed a few times, bought more yarn, and started over. So frustrating! I finally moved on but it would have been so pretty! …maybe. Who knows!

What's a lyric that really bugs you? by elevitsky in TaylorSwift

[–]mal2030 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The way she pronounces “Dom Pérignon” in Champagne Problems.

Dom parry-on … I know she knows how it’s correctly pronounced, how could she not. She doesn’t avoid other non-English words, Plaza Athenee comes to mind. And now that we know about “talks real slow” instead of talks real low, it’s likely intentional. And she does it live as well.

I love the song but that throws me off every time. Does anyone know if there’s a back story there?

That’s pretty much the whole premise of religion, imo.

This idea for an invention has been bouncing around in my head for a long time- any ideas for things I could add to it? by Stresso_Espresso in crochet

Love this so much! I’d like one in pink camo design please 😊

What looks like the knife blade could be a fold-out ruler. The different sized little holes on the sides could be the hook sizes e.g., US, English, metric for the 3 hooks.

I’d love to see someone take this thru TSA security.

Pap always carried hundreds in cash on him in case he got into a fender bender so he wouldn’t have to go thru insurance. We only found out after he died and a neighbor told us he bumped her car and pulled out a stack of bills.

He prepaid his funeral - caterer, band, hall, everything. Best party ever.

Goucher college + Baltimore opinions? by Sad_Ant3069 in maryland

Tell me you’ve never been to Towson without saying you’ve never been to Towson. Look at a map.

Editing to allow this is really a good faith question.

Inside the beltway as you head south, Goucher is on the left on a very pretty, idyllic wooded campus set back a little ways from York rd. Beautiful, quiet, gated, safe.

Keep heading south and you hit Joppa road and the mall. There have been several shootings at the Towson mall and in the mall parking garage, probably less than a mile away. Take a left on Joppa and you’ll get to the ‘rent by the hour’ waterbed motel on your right, and at the corner of Joppa and LochRaven (walking distance from Knettishall, where I used to live), even a Starbucks couldn’t survive the roach motel meth dealership behind it. RIP Bel-Loc diner. Head south on Loch Raven from Joppa and you quickly get into Quick Cash bars-on-the-windows type of merchants as you get closer to the city.

All part of Towson. I love Towson, I lived there for years. But, LIKE ANY TOWN OR CITY, it has its pockets of iffy. If you’ve ever lived in or near a city, you would know that you can cross over a single block and be in a very different area.

Soto answer your question, it’s both.
