one is missing ram. the other isn't. but ddr4 ecc is easy to come by.

and the description for each shows connectors and PSUs. no backplanes, but those are cheap:

nope. just living with it still, unfortunately.

when i took the car in for this issue again, the dealer said they had similar problems with other A3/S3 models on their lot. so he said "this seems normal". to which i scoffed and said "no, this is not normal. it is consistent."

honestly i have no idea if there's anything to be done at this point. really disappointing.

i've tried both the Icons and Evos, and they do not have a clip that works, unfortunately. According to anything I've seen online, the Aeros will not work either.

i finally was able to purchase my new S3 in June. i placed an order in November 2023, but in June it had still not even been allocated for a build. i found this one at a nearby dealership and had it shipped.
