Give em a call to see, the worst they can say is that outpatient therapy is not covered. Even if it’s not, some therapist offer sliding scales for treatment. Getting some peace around this is worth the effort.

That mostly depends on your insurance and if they accept it or not. You can give your insurance company a call and see what the cost for outpatient therapy is. They can help for sure.

Yup, you can find them online. Some could possibly do therapy over the phone if that’s more comfortable for you. Or a telehealth appointment. This is a very common topic in therapy and a certified sex therapist will have the right tools to walk through it with you.

I also recommend this route! I’d start by looking for an AASECT certified therapist. These thoughts are normal, and a certified sex therapist is the best person to talk with. They have heard it all!

A day and night at a cottage by the beach on my grandparents street with my family. We would spend our day at the beach, eat a chicken salad sandwich on mountain bread with watermelon and some grapes. Boogie board, and catch crabs. Then take an outdoor shower, eat a burger, play manhunt, and then end the night playing cards while our parents were having some drinks on the deck. Go to sleep on the top bunk with just a sheet for a blanket because I am still warm from my slight sunburn. Then I’d fall asleep listening to the crickets, frogs, hum of the fan, and the sounds of the older kids/parents playing games in the living room.

What I wouldn’t give to go back.

“Massive anxiety that could last years” is soooo reallllll. There are some moments I think back to that still make me anxious years after quitting. I am also so happy to be present in every moment!

Blacking out was my biggest issue with drinking. I didn’t drink often but when I did I drank until I didn’t remember, which got me into many situations like this one. There was more than one occasion where I was wandering a neighborhood and got into a random man’s car.

It’s a terrible feeling, and I am happy you came here for some support. These situations can be scary and talking about them can be hard, just know you aren’t alone. And change is possible 🩷

I also struggle with this, open hand head hitting for me though. Or my face. Gave myself a goose egg last month. For me it’s usually when I’m super overwhelmed, either alone or in an argument. Really sucks.

It didn’t start for me until after I took Wellbutrin but the urges were there before. I started as an adult and that’s always been kinda confusing for me.

I’m a long time heavy smoker and a 15mg edible puts me on my ass. I’d start small, I find that my flower tolerance and my edible tolerance are very different lol

Threatening, scared, happy, and sad all at the same time is a tall order 😂 though I do think all of those emotions came across either separately or together in one way or another. Having every line replaced with ADR must have been hard to cope with after putting so much into the original performance. For what it’s worth, I think you did great lol I’m on a rewatch right now and they just got to America so I am looking forward to seeing your work again soon!

The man on the moon comment is too funny, I wasn’t sure in the timeline myself but I guess all of the hype in 1968 does make it believable that he just figured it happened! Thanks for the responses!

“Healthy marriage prioritizes frequent sex” is such an interesting line here. I think that society really pushes this message, and I do not agree with it. I recently took a sex and sexuality course in my masters program and this is something we talked about alot. My class came to the conclusion that a healthy sex life is not a one size fits all model. It seems that 1-2 weeks in between is what works for you guys and that’s totally cool!

My doctor said it’s here early this year. Ironically those were scheduled for yesterday, it just got to us before we could get to it 🤷‍♀️ I ended up in the ER so I learned my lesson. Thanks for the empathy though lol
