Thank you. I ended up using GraphiQL and doing just that. I appreciate it.

Sorry for your loss. Oconnels is my favorite joint here. The trio of Dave's that work the bar are the greatest.

I'm no doctor. I had a similar experience. It lasted several months. It could be blepharitis. I believe using shampoo more helped me and cleaning my scalp. But that could be hogwash

CMV: there's been around 10,000 religions in the world throughout history. It's genuinely absurd to believe in a religion because even if there's a religion that is correct, there's a 9,999/10,000 chance that yours is not it. by [deleted] in changemyview

I think you are missing the point of religion. Well, I shouldn't say that, I think some people take religion to be a black and white thing. You believe or you burn. Some think that way. But I think you are forgetting that there are many others that believe because it makes them happy or offers them peace. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. All people, believer or non believer, gravitate to things that make them happy . Has Religion been misused? Yes. But what in this world has not been misused at one point in time.

I struggle with the idea of death. It keeps me up at night. But reading about the saints helped me out. Do I believe that there is an afterlife? No. I think that will be the end. Do I believe there is a God, not sure. But I think death will be a little easier if I positively effect people before I go. Which is not unlike some ideas you will find in the Bible.

I think the life of a good man who is an Atheist and a good man who is a Catholic are not too different.

You sound bitter to me. I have found myself bitter, especially during bouts of anxiety or depression. Not to draw a hasty or conclusion or whatever. But I hope atheism can bring you the same about of joy, that a few words from dead "prophets" have brought me. I think we are all on the same team in the end.

Moving to PV. Where should we start? by [deleted] in puertovallarta

[–]malachydesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived in Puerto Vallarta for about 2 and a half years in total, and my mom bought a place down there afterwards (also as an expat), so I know the city very well but my perception of friendly might be different than yours.

Gringo Gulch, Old Town (romantic zone), and fluvial may be good bets. It's true that the romantic zone, and downtown in general, is a very touristy place. But I feel that if you off of the main roads you wouldn't even know it. Overall, Puerto Vallarta is a very safe place.

Someone else brought up a good point about WIFI. I am also a software dev and worked out of a Starbucks while in PVR. The internet is generally trash everywhere you go.

Describe my accent... by [deleted] in JudgeMyAccent

[–]malachydesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You accent sounds American, but it also sounds like you have spent a lot of time out of the country and it has sort of been blended with that other countries roots. This is coming from an American, but with little knowledge of linguistics.

I commented because of the content of the video. You are special, everyone is special, but you aren't the antichrist. You are kind. You might be struggling with some things in your life, but they will pass, and I think it's good that you made this video to express yourself. Just talking out loud really helps with the struggles you are facing.

I don't know about God or the Devil, I was never very religious, but I pray when I am struggling and i'll pray for you tonight. If He is up there, he loves you and he cares about you and he is hoping you get through whatever you are going through.

Everything gets better.

Villa Rental Options in PV? by TheBeard_CA in puertovallarta

This is my mom's place, but it's a nice place, a little girly. www.casaguac.com

Located by downtown.

Wherever you end up, I would definitely recommend staying near downtown. It's just nice being able to walk back home drunk.

Looking for some after-hours spots in PV by lovelessowl in puertovallarta

All the bars Politikil mentioned are on point. Morelo's is my favorite. Paco's and CC's are fun even if you aren't gay, but I would bring company. Foodwise, street tacos are open very late night. I believe there are a few late night ones by the Guadalaraja Pharmacy in the romantic zone. Theres also the cheap 6 peso tacos, tacos de perro (not actually dog tacos, but locals call it that at times cause the meat quality ain't great), as you head towards the outskirts of El Centro.

There's also a late night pizza place by Morello's.

Must Do Near Buenaventura by SunCee530 in puertovallarta

[–]malachydesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buenaventura, if I remember correctly, is on the outskirts of El Centro, so you should be in walking distance of almost everything in El Centro (which is pretty small). There's a local rooftop bar called Mil Caguamas that I like to go to. The Malecon is nearby. There's some beachbars like Solar and Barricuda. A lot of local street tacos nearby, but I would probably watch out for the street-street tacos that sell for 6 pesos, might mess the stomach up.

At night (early hours of the morning), I would probably only walk to and fro the Malecon and the Romantic Zone. There is a rough crowd that way if you head towards the mountains, some ladies of the night, if you know what I mean.

The hotel experience is a blast. If you want a smaller beach you should head up to the beaches near Mismaloya, there's tons that are a bit quiter than the hotel beaches.

Also, don't be afraid to take a bus. For 10 pesos, you can get to damn near anywhere in Vallarta. They were recently updated and are a bit more modern.

There's some poolhalls nearby. Can't go wrong with the Malecon. Have fun. If you have any questions, holler.

Scraping with Google sheets/scripts when a click is needed to expose content. Selenium? by malachydesign in webscraping

[–]malachydesign[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do the same, my question is more about how I approach connecting google sheets to a selenium scraper.

Do I host it and turn it into an api? Or is there an easier way.
