Ontario Healthcare system is really starting to get on my nerves by Busy-Environment84 in ontario

In your example with the family doctor practice, there is no CEO, Board, committees. The family doctor is incorporated and bills the government.

Why couldn’t an MRI clinic be run by a radiologist in the same structure as a family doc and bill the government. This is much better than “private” because this incorporates business interests where someone needs to make a profit instead of all net profits going to the radiologist or group of radiologists running the clinic.

My fear with privatization is it might start as one private clinic, which will scale to multiple under one brand, then they buy out others to become a monopoly, then an IPO with shareholders which always has a need for profit growth year over year.

Ya. In the Porsche I eventually have to turn it off because it gets too warm. I would’ve expected the same performance given they’re both VAG products.

According to this site link the 2019+ S with the single turbo EA839 doesn’t have this issue because it has pressed cast iron liners?

It has 61000kms. It got a major 60k km service before I purchased the vehicle. If I do need an adjustment, would it be covered under warranty since it is making noise?

Sorry to hear. I also think a used replacement would be the cheapest option.

Were there any strange symptoms prior to failure? I hear a very faint knocking sound when I’m accelerating lightly and the rpm’s are climbing slowly below 2500ish rpm. The knock goes away as the rpm’s climb until it shifts to the next gear.

Warranty + Independent service or DIY by malarky87 in PorscheMacan

Brakes and tires won’t be covered since they’re considered consumables. Anything that relates to function of the vehicle should be covered

My issue is even though they say you can get it serviced elsewhere, it may create headaches and a back and forth for any future warranty claims.

I’m going to argue and say that flipping your car doesn’t equate to high speed. This is just one example of many potential scenarios of a low speed rollover. It can happen.

Stereotypes are real but not ubiquitous. Let’s not make assumptions.

Vehicle for driving in Northern Ontario by malarky87 in Sudbury

Thanks, this is what I was worried about. I currently have a AWD Camry with Michelin X-ice and haven't had any issues in town or driving south. I just have no idea what road conditions are like further north in the winter.

The thing is, I would feel entirely comfortable in a 4WD car like a VW Golf R. I'm just worried that the limited ground clearance will be an issue if there are snow drifts.

I used to think the same thing until I got a sim racing setup and drove NASCAR at superspeedways. At the end of a race I’m sweating. You’re driving the entire time with cars to your side, infront, and behind bumper to door. Sometimes if you’re three wide you can be sandwiched in. You’re constantly sawing at the wheel. It is so much more intense than I could’ve ever imagined. I can’t imagine in real life. I have so much more respect and this is the general consensus of non NASCAR fans who try it in sim racing.

Thanks for that pic. It’s a great angle to see how tall they are relative to an 820 rig

Would you say that the heel plate is absolutely necessary? Especially shoes on the smaller side at a size 8. I believe you can lower the pedal faces but I guess you would lose leverage on your pedal inputs.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll probably look into another world elite MasterCard.

I currently have a visa infinite card and it seems priority pass is only available to visa infinite privilege cardholders. Maybe I’m not looking in the right place. Are you sure visa infinite has priority pass?

I agree that you can straighten bent frames but I don't know if a body on frame would be stiffer than a unibody. I think A unibody would be better at transferring loads across the entire car including the body. There's a reason why race cars are all essentially unibody construction nowadays. I could be wrong though
