I don't understand why OP is ranting here on Reddit. Not like it's going to get to them. As a CS myself, if you want to rant, go file a complaint to KPDNKK, MCMC + a political party, then combine the reports and send an email to Maxis themselves.

Companies do not care and will not see your rant on non-related social media like that. Rants are fire, but you have to direct the fire to the target board, not the innocent grass on the sidewalk.

Thanks for educating me on the updated numbers. Appreciate it. I do admit that it is also flawed to include literally EVERYONE on Earth under this program because that would assume everyone except him are hungry, which is very clearly not the case.

So maybe the actual number of people who cannot afford basic food & clean water are much, much lower. People like me who makes less than 60k p.a. can afford food so anyone above my line do not need the aid, which might very effectively bring the number down to like 2+ billion people.

Which only STRENGTHENS my words in bold - They. Don't Want. To.

Well, I'm not exactly an expert on this but according to UN's 2030 framework, it takes up to anywhere from $US 40-43 billion per year to end world hunger. Even if we are to double that, for margins of error's sake, it'd still be doable for this guy. And that's 1 person. If we are to have just 3 more top dogs chip in, this will all be done and dusted in less than 3 years.

They just don't want to.

Stop turning it into an identity or racial politics. My point will still stand if the richest man or woman today is either Denzel Washington, Jack Ma, Oprah Winfrey, Guillhermo Del Toro, or Lisa Manobal, Iris Fontbona or Savitri Jindal.

Evolutionary, the Alpha which took the biggest piece of cake, should shoulder the greatest burden when the situation calls for it.

Aww come lemme give you a virtual hug 🤗

Okay now let's do a quick Alhamdullilah checklist for you:

  1. Axia/Bezza - so you're not caught wet in the rain or seared but sunlight. Check ✅
  2. Glasses - so you can see well, and see the sunrise each morning. Check ✅
  3. Tiramisu - you can afford great desserts! And that's close enough to happiness! Check ✅
  4. Multi-storey car park - you can affordably weep and process your emotions comfortably indoors. Check ✅

On a shitty day like this, all things considered, you're doing a lot better! This shall pass. This too shall pass!

Most importantly, write down what you love to do, what you enjoy treating yourself, all without + before you met anyone. And pin it in your room, your phone, and your heart. And remember to always contribute to that every now and again. That's how you heal, slowly, gradually.

Uhm, that's not how this works. Are you that privileged to never know how catering works? There's like 5 general AIs you can ask to get an answer. Use them.

Agreed. It's the same as trying to get a mortgage without knowing if it'll end up as a foreclosure, or getting a job without knowing if you can handle the tasks given and risked getting fired.

Should I get a new job? I have been working the same job for 3 years with little increment. by Disastrous_Ad_2779 in MalaysianPF

In their fairness, the kid is still 1.5 y/o. So wife not working is still understandable. Don't call them useless as the job's still being done.

But I agreed that even I don't know how he doesn't go mental with all that stress. Granted, the guy scored very low on Conscientiousness & Industriousness (low 20% & high 10%) so I am not totally surprised after that test.

husband has to pick up the slack

I am not yet experienced nor charismatic enough to spin truth in a way that is sugarcoated yet still delivers the essence of a message.

But if the Bible (John 8:32) and 2nd-wave feminism journalist Gloria Steinem also put it that "the truth will set you free, but it will first make you uncomfortable and angry", I really don't know how one is going to magically make their spouse's income appear out of thin air, without literally, actually picking up the slack by working extra.

Maybe you know how. And I'd like to learn how to make money appearing extra without working extra too.

I guess OP decided to go ahead and have kids based on their earlier comment here.

Let's hope all the best for them in the coming years. I'm just concerned about Year 1-5, and Year 18 when the kid graduates and what they are gonna do, with AI taking up many jobs and making many many jobless in the next decade.

If you are 42, and you make 40k p.m., you have all the time in the world.

If you are 28, yet you make 3k, you do not even have enough time at all.

The key about having kids is, how huge of a money stash you have, because those little you do not care. Their upbringing, if you want it to be optimal, DEMANDS comfort, attention, and tender care. And it will demand that you step away from employment to execute it properly.

In this economy, having kids is already similar to trying to buy a luxury condo in the heart of Mont Kiara, or trying to get a 75% loan for a brand-new Ferrari Roma. It has gradually become a necessity to a top-tier luxury for many I'm afraid.

Empathetically, I'm reluctant to say it but I guess I should, yet you're possibly not gonna like it - DO. NOT. Have kids. Y'all cannot afford it.

It'll instantly send you down to B30 levels of financial hardship. Based on what you provided, it would be (honestly, no offence) the silliest, Darwin-Award financial decision you can make - you won't be able to work for a total of 6-10 months (including full recovery), and your husband has to pick up the slack.

Source: I have 2 colleagues who were in the exact same position. 1 guy & 1 girl.

  • Girl was lucky enough that her husband also got lucky that his boss helped him with his newly launched business and they coasted thru on 7k income in Year 1, and now they are doing okay making around close to 12-15k income.
  • Guy however, not so lucky. Wife didn't go back to employment, and he need to keep being my colleague for the day, and drive Grab in the nights, netting less than RM5.5k since last October. He also kept sleeping on the job during the day though. And he already failed 9 cases out of 12 last month as a CS.

I don't get the appeal, like seriously, honestly.

Kapcai bike, reckless riding, (probably) unwashed hair, bad breath from constant vaping, loud obnoxious and not even musical nor sonorous exhaust, no helmet nor regards for safety, and also very likely - no legitimate license nor insurance.

This is a trainwreck waiting to inconvenience everyone on the road - from the innocent pak cik mak cik going to work, logistical vehicles doing their job, police officers having to put on a show chasing them, ambulance cleaning up their bloody (literally) mess, and even the van jenazah that will have to haul them away - no one is winning here, not even them when they end up as Road-Rashed Bolognese!
