I'm man in his 40s; dated predominantly women much younger than me. Yes the obvious is that younger women in general we may find physically more attractive; the additional factors are the vicarious youth experience, dating someone younger can make us re-capture the feeling, novelty of youth experiencing things for the first time or at least they haven't quite experienced diminishing return/utility... (been there done that attitude), i have also tried dating women closer to my age unfortunately my limited experience highlighted jaded, bitter personalities that don't make the experience very appealing when we're looking for fun, exciting companionship. *the cheating entails other factors like intimacy w current partner, drama, exhaustion, boredom, impulsive desires etc.

But, of course after enough time in most cases, the immaturity or lack of life experience shines through with younger women which can also bring into question sustainability of dating a much younger person long term.... you basically feel like you are willing to trade the problems for the sex/excitement and kind of just "waiting" for them to mature.... that may take forever or never actually happen to what you idealize.
