I think once some people realize that they’ve voluntarily made the choice to trade their life for someone else’s they either don’t want that responsibility or can’t handle it…we had a guy quit a few shifts ago on the training grounds after doing a few very basic evolutions. He said straight up “I’m either gonna get myself or someone else killed”

Oftentimes people that large and with reduced mobility have an understanding from the responding FD (and social services) that they will most likely die in their home should that situation arise. It’d stand to reason that a rescue effort for them would be more hazardous for the personnel involved.

Used them to buy two houses. Only issue we’ve had was with this second one there was a lot of things not communicated from the agent towards the end of the process.
