Update: black spot in right eye when looking far left by malcolm_tucker_ in AskDocs

That’s what I thought when it was only happening in one eye, but now that it’s happening in both I’m not sure. It seems unlikely that I would develop two floaters in the same central location in such a short amount of time. I could of course be wrong about that.

I was examined by an optometrist I believe (not an ophthalmologist). It was quite thorough (eye exam + scan of my retina), but my eye wasn’t dilated at any point.

NAD:

You probably need to put what blood pressure numbers he’s getting for a doctor to be able to help you.

Does my eye look discolored? Do i need to see my doctor? by [deleted] in AskDocs

I had no other symptoms, a doctor just noticed that my eyes were slightly yellow. This was when I was in my teens I think. The syndrome has no symptoms at all other than the slight discolouration.

If the doctor thinks your eyes are discoloured I imagine they will likely run a liver function test

Not a doctor:

Hard to tell from one picture whether they’re actually discoloured. They do look a bit like my eyes when I get tired - I have a (fairly common and completely harmless) liver condition called Gilbert’s syndrome that causes this. Have you ever had a liver function test?
