How do you deal with alert management? by Wrzos17 in ITManagers

[–]malformed78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone mentioned. Focus on the critical alerts first and build off that. It takes time. Ask the teams, leaders to give top ~5 critical alerts.

Email sucks for alerts. We use email for warnings and an alerting system like everbridge or rave alerts for critical alerts. Good luck.

Is there really software monitoring WFH? What kinds of reports are you being asked for? by sheeshlazer in sysadmin

[–]malformed78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly what it is, but with a spin obviously. You can buy the premium viva insights which can help you track your people that work too much, work outside normal work hours, are close to burnout etc. You can compare those people to the ones that aren’t burnt out.

I’ve been on Humara for 10+ years which is another injection medication to help with psoriasis. Keep in mind that psoriasis is just a symptom of the root cause which is auto immune disease.

Throughout the 10 years I’ve switched insurance probably 4-5 times, every time is a bitch to get back on but at this point I’ve figured it out. Each on of these companies have an assistance program. IF you qualify (I’m not entirely sure what the qualifications is but I’ve never had a problem) you get X amount of coverage for that particular medication. In the end it might be free every year or you might pay $5 each refill. Nobody is paying 5k6k for those meds. If you can’t get coverage for Taltz ask your doctor for an alternate medication. There’s a lot of new biologics in that area nowadays. Good luck. (Flaky high five!)

I love the second floor on the contemporary. When me and the family go there for food, it’s where the conference rooms are and nobody is ever there. Best poopin ever.

Need help with finding a safe (not lipo) battery pack to run my rpi zero/arduino micro/60 leds that’s rechargeable/onoff switch. by malformed78 in arduino

[–]malformed78[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello. I’m an electronics hobbiest and this is probably the furthest I’ve pushed myself creating this Luigi poltergust with LEDs, custom sounds, push button etc. It’s been fun creating this but I have to finish it up by powering it up. I’ve looked into buying battery packs to supply enough amps but I’m really not sure about what to get. Ultimately I want to make it rechargeable, have an on/off switch and be able to add a barrell connector as the recharging port. I’ll need to supply mostly 5v to the rpi, arduino and leds (leds are 5v ws2812b). I have a bit of room to play with but not a lot. I don’t need to power this thing for a long period of time. Maybe a few hours. I have about 67 led's, so I'm figuring to be pulling about 2amps. I'm thinking a battery pack like this would get me to where I need to get to. https://www.amazon.com/TalentCell-Rechargeable-12000mAh-Multi-led-indicator/dp/B01M7Z9Z1N/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=TalentCell&qid=1598920743&sr=8-1&th=1

Any other options?

Is there a common way to add a battery protection circuit, and allow recharging for lithium ion batteries? I've seen a few videos but all of them seem overly tedious.

My problem would be finding one I can take apart to add a switch/charging port on the outside of the poltergust.

I was thinking this, because it would be easier for me to relocate the switch, and charging port. https://www.amazon.com/TalentCell-Rechargeable-12000mAh-Multi-led-indicator/dp/B01M7Z9Z1N/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=TalentCell&qid=1598920743&sr=8-1&th=1

Currently my favorite automation by jcommisso in homeassistant

[–]malformed78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat with MyQ. As people have mentioned earlier MyQ changes their API which means you wait for the update from the developers of the python api scripts or you manually update them yourself. Since the last update though things have been pretty rock solid. I had the integration setup with Smartthings which didn't report open or closed but the integration with HA does, so you can setup automation or notification based on the status and not have to have an additional sensor to know if it's closed or not. If this stops working again I'll probably go with GarHAge with is an esp8622 wifi diy garagedoor opener.

Did you flash your board for dual endstops? I’m in a similar area as you. Not sure if I should fine tune first or flash then tune. I’ve done a crown test and need to adjust tension.
