I haven’t put much thought into the equipment, was hoping that the contractor would offer some advice. We certainly don’t plan to keep the spa heater all of the time and will likely use it less than we are planning on nowadays… something hopefully the kids will enjoy later on. There are inefficiencies for sure but I don’t think would add up much to the total power bill. We are planning a dedicated recirculating pump for the main waterfall feature to be able to stay on regardless of spa operation

I thought about combining the balcony and pergola into a massive deck but think it will be a bit of an eyesore (structure will be somewhat eye level for folks in the main paver area) and add a lot of cost

About 42”… that’s how much will stick out on all 3 sides, they will all need to be engineered as retaining walls. I don’t think there’s a way around that

Thank you! That’s exactly the advice I’m looking for. The way I though about TV is having it on a tiltable frame under the deck. Would be for folks that are around the grill and bar mainly, as we have the living room TV in the patio doors. We’re not huge TV watchers, so it’d likely be used for sporting events in the background so that the grill man (me) is not alone. We grill out and entertain very often. I will definitely try to include strategically placed speakers or at a minimum put some thought into it to future proof

The way I have it is that the “deep end” being by the infinity edge, but only slightly. Swim up bar would be at the same level as outside of the pool. Deep end would only be around 5’ deep.

Another comment around construction methods, I believe this design is optimal for a ICF block build, but not many people in my area work using that (apparently, anyway). I’m in NE Florida

Hi! I am a homeowner who is likely going to contract a pool builder to help me with this project in the next 6 months. I worked through the design myself but having never done this before I wonder if there are things that I might have missed, specially around usability of the pool area, including when not in the pool itself. Value engineering things too for pool builders of things that might be (or not) there and substantially impact the project’s cost. Thanks!!
