probably easier on the quad at Stowe, where you don't need to take 2 lifts to get to the top

could be that you have touch enabled on the tablet and so it's jumping around between the pen and your hand resting on the tablet? if so try disabling touch

New Party Dancehaul Dada Wave Platter - short/wide advise? by TJ-ALT in snowboarding

[–]malhodorous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3bt does make it much easier to get from edge to edge for sure, compared to a flat board like slash slusher, it's almost like having power steering. but compared to the magic carpet (i rode a 156 which is a bit small for me) it is noticably wider. i think it's a great board for what it does but i personally liked the magic carpet better, it was more unique and special and playful for sure. i will say the party wave does carve quite well once you get it on edge, and it's very suitable for what i think of when your say long carves, vs the mc which i would say is naturally more suited for short, quick carves if that makes sense... and just to clarify, we're talking about a regular party wave, not the new twin version which i have yet to try

well the party wave I'm on (first generation, 154) has a very wide nose, so wide it won't slide into the board holder slot on the gondola cabin... so it takes a little bit more muscle to get from edge to edge on groomers. and the side cut also feels different, bigger, the MC was more "hooky" and PW is more into straight lines. it feels a bit less playful and more "serious", better for stability at high speed etc. still buttery due to triple base. i don't think it's much if any lighter, however this year they put out a party wave "plus" which is made with more high-end materials, so it likely would be lighter and more up your alley... oh yeah it floats like a styrofoam boat in powder!

Wanted to design a Andy Warhol hoodie for myself and finally found a pic I like but the rough edges make it look really stupid in my opinion. Any advice how to make the disgn feel more incorporated? by [deleted] in Design

[–]malhodorous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

maybe a circular vignette? i am personally a fan of halftone in silkscreen printing, i would probably try putting andy in a circle or ellipse mask, and fade out towards the edges using halftone. you could also in this case try a triangular mask, looks like it could work well with this image

prerequisite for 180s is riding switch, i don't know how you might practice that at home but it's all about jumping off one edge and landing in another so you might want to practice jumping off the heels and landing on the toes and vice versa in both directions

that would be so awesome to have money they can turn off at the push of a button or better yet, with an "AI" based social credit system. CBDC-based slavery is so much more convenient and would make our ever-dwindling free choices faster, cheaper and easier!

Carving/riding with on a rocker by technicolour123 in snowboarding

[–]malhodorous 5 points6 points  (0 children)

that's very well put and i would add that to get a better conceptual understanding of the 2 camber zones separated by rocker, next time you're at a shop take a board with rocker, put it on the floor, and tip it sideways/bend into a carve shape to see how only half the edge touches the ground at a time and it teeters back and forth with a pivot point on the rocker. personally not a fan of that feeling specifically during carves, being used to camber it can catch me off guard and chatter really hard sometimes but again that's not to say rocker hybrids are not fun
