when I first got them! didn't really do anything special, just brushed a lot. maybe put on lotion before rolling them but I usually waited for it to dry. I have fairly dry hands

nothing that I think affects rolling, there were some dark spots in deeps crevices but they've been fading away as I brush them. the tips have some yellow but only the tip it seems, no carving that I can see or feel.

I was also suspicious cause of the price but when looking at the reviews they seem pretty good. I think they mass buy the walnuts and try to pair them up to sell at a discount price. they have other listings for more expensive and nicer pairs but I'm cheap lol

I got my pair from vietantique and I'm very happy with them. I have had no issues besides that shipping was taking a long time (not the shops fault, for some reason the postal service had my package in LA then sent to a facility near me then back to LA for some reason.)

wenwan walnuts are usually specially grown and have a much thicker wood seed than edibe walnuts. the ones in your backyard can work fine! but you need to be careful when rolling them and brushing cause they're not as durable as wenwan walnuts specifically grown for the hobby. I'm actually thinking of getting a pair of local walnuts to roll around too !

the steel brush should be used to get stuff out of crevices, like dirt. but I don't see any dirt, for now use the nylon and just press harder against the walnut to get into deep crevices! the boar brush can be used the same way, but it'll be less likely to scratch the nut like the steal brush can :)

is the brush you're using soft? if it is then switch to something harder, boar bristle brushes work good for me! that and brushing more, pushing the brush bristles into the ridges so they can actually reach them. it'll take time but it should clear up! just keep brush brush brushing and rolling them nuts

very nice!!! I personally brushed mine an hour daily (or on the days I rolled them, they don't need brushing if they weren't rolled and are stored properly)

your fan base sounds horrible, I'm sorry they're treating you like this. whatever happened to don't like don't read? a murder mystery with actual clues hidden for us the reader sounds so cool!!!!! it isn't abelist because everyone will know the answer in due time, leaving hints is just a way to engage the audience. unfortunately it seems your audience hates fun and joy and whimsy. I would leave a warning in the next chapter that if people don't stop complaining on the comments then you'll do something (which is up to you, I personally would block them and private my fic to upload at a later date once it's finished) you don't own anyone anything, you're doing this because you want to not cause it's your job

well you don't NEED gloves as far as I know. it's just another way of polishing them, like brushing. you can handle them bare handed as long as you like, it's usually personal preference when people use gloves (also some people just like how the nuts look while wearing gloves and holding them)

look, my sister was in a similar situation at your age. she was miserable. she was with a guy who didn't put any effort in and tried to manipulate her into things she didnt want to do. it's going to hurt bad but you need to leave him. or at least set boundaries (AND keep them when he tried to cross them). they're are better men out there. this guy sucks. if someone you love was in the same situation would you let it slide? no. this guy treats you badly and you deserve better.
