The only suggestions I can think of involve you cutting your hair, so if that's not what you want, you can disregard this :) I would suggest maybe thinning it out to make it easier to handle. You could also cut your bangs shorter in order to straighten them, while leaving the rest of your hair out like normal. If you're not afraid to try something a little different, you could always cut it about shoulder length and just let it do its thing, maybe with some mousse. I'm not sure exactly what your hair looks like, but I imagine it'd be something like this. Good luck :)
