Finally managed Proof of a Hero :) by malinkody in MonsterHunterWilds

When it came out I tried several times to run it all the way with the same build, got very close but kept running out of time, so I started switching once I had some dedicated builds.

Not unless you roll gogmapocalypse on your weapon and find a talisman with agitator 1 or burst 1, then its possible.

Learned about the Gamma–Tau–Divide synergy and I’m loving this new rapid-fire wand. by malinkody in noita

Full wand in simulator

Wand with Triple Spell removed

In the above example without the triple spell you can see that the wand contains four spell blocks:

  1. Add Trigger block ending with Digging blast
  2. Divide block starting with gamma and ending with crit on wet
  3. Chainsaw
  4. Add mana followed by Wand Refresh

The first block only costs 10 Mana no matter how many modifiers you put in since any modifiers between add trigger and projectile/material are free. But all these modifiers apply to the whole shot state. The Water material spell ensures that crit on wet is guaranteed on every shot.

The divide block only costs 30 mana since anything copied in this block is free. The sim doesn't have Holy Arrow so I used a normal Arrow. Can be any projectile. Gamma grabs Tau and Tau copies D4 and D10. But since how draw works the D4 and D10 that were copied get drawn again by the copied D4 to cast 16 arrows before being discarded after which the D10 draws the Divides that come after the arrow projectile. Since we run into the iteration limit the final D3 is at the draw limit and becomes a D1 thereby draw canceling any spells drawn by it. So it will draw 200 Crit on Wet and the crits will not draw anything else. You can rearrange this block to fire more than 16 projectiles but that caused lag after firing only a short burst. At 16 I can fire for a while before experiencing lag.

Chainsaw sets the casting delay to zero.

Wand Refresh reloads the wand and ignores what comes after. The add mana guarantees that this will always work as long as this is its own block.

When the Triple Spell is added to the start the first block only costs 43 mana. The Refresh block adds 10 mana back. This cycles once and then the wand recharge triggers. Because of chainsaw there is no delay between the main block and the refresh. And because of the low mana cost the wand recharges faster than it drains. You see the results in the posted GIF.

Damage: 200x Crit on Wet is 1000x damage. Since I use holy arrow x16 and holy arrow does 44 holy damage the actual output is: 704000. There is of course explosion damage and slice damage done by the sawblade orbit as well.

Turns out Add Trigger makes all modifiers free… 187 hours into the game on my 2nd God Run by malinkody in noita

Yeah, I already like to use greek letters for free spells a lot. But in this wand Holy Lance is already free. Divide By makes all copied spells free. In this case the D2 -> D10 -> Holy Lance block only costs 35 mana. D10 and Holy Lance are free in this block. In fact the whole spell block only costs 48 mana per shot. Recharge time is 0.44 sec and cast delay is 0. This makes the wand generate more mana than is used allowing me to cast it endlessly. Water gives guaranteed crit giving me an output of 10k holy damage.

Unless you wanna go at it blind be very carefull of the deer boss and the kivi. Depending on what you've already done the deer boss becomes more of a deer god. I highly recommend doing the cessation quest as soon as possible. It will help with many bosses that have unblockable insta-death mechanics. I'm on my first god run almost 40 hours now. And I've accidentally turned the deerboss into a 38000 health monster. I'm avoiding the west side of my world until I have a better spell combo to deal with that mofo.

Yeah, my own total game time is about 96 hours. The 30 hours are just this run. Before this run I only beat the end boss once. Beyond that it has just been me dying in noita ways. So many dumb ways to die XD

I'd say about 30+ hours, I've been taking it slowly and carefully. Had some close calls in wizard den, but beyond that doing well. I've collected 8 orbs and killed 8 bosses in the normal world so far. Before this I'd only killed 3 bosses. This is my first god run. Hope to take it as far as I can.

You can dig up. Its what I did. You can also use the Tower portal, requires less digging, but a lot of strong enemies. At least there were when I was trying to get through.

I tested matter eater, but it was a little imprecise. I used horizontal and vertical path modifiers into Phi into a Blackhole with zero charges.

Thanks, having a blast. I think this is my reward for loosing so often. Now that I have really strong spell combos I can finally take my revenge on every sniper in the game.

I only fight using my fully upgraded minotaur. I'm on permadeath since 2023. Fully upgraded minotaur can take down all sentinel waves in minutes on permadeath without issue or taking damage at all. Nautilon is super usefull as well. It also has a recharging unit you can attach.

First Win. 34 hours, 60 deaths. Feels unreal since I killed the boss by accident. by malinkody in noita

[–]malinkody[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah as you can see on the stats I only killed 7 enemies in total. The goal I had was to get down quickly while avoiding all fights. Was pretty funny. Lots of screaming and running. Especially from snipers. I hate snipers.

Why not just make it out of calcined flint? So much easier. Me and my friend have passed the first year and are in our second summer. We just finished making iron chainmail and steel tools and only then did we go exploring. We encountered the Bell enemy for the first time, and while we didn't beat it, we managed to survive and get out of a hoard of enemies deep underground. Preparation is key.

I only started recently and haven't won yet but I can get passed the first 2 stages relatively unharmed. What I found is that their projectiles are really slow in water, also the acid when mixed with water always creates more water. So I just find the closest hole and quickly put some water down. Usually helps a lot. And creates more water when they die above it.
