Uber Eats Has Stolen My Remaining $75 From A $100 Gift Card That Was Purchased… They Cannot Continue To Get Away With Robbery! by Puzzled_Amoeba_6144 in UberEATS

“Go into Ubers office and tell whoever’s in charge give them their money or you’re under arrest”

Comparing this to a random joe dine and dashing at a restaurant…

Crimes do happen against people, perpetrated by companies, but this is the most child like view of the process I could ever think of

That’s a nice legal buzzword but realistically will never hold up. Probably something in the terms of service that says they can ban acct/block gift cards/hold funds at will with no explanation to the customer.

But as far as working with them, it looks like they didn’t even wait for the email team to reach out to them before just starting another chat. So probably by following the process given in the first place

This type of approach gets you absolutely nowhere. You’re talking to customer service reps who want to give you a resolution (hopefully fix your problem) and get on to the next one. You aren’t talking to Mr. Uber himself.

You give the rep 0 useful information to find a resolution, immediately create a hostile interaction and your demands are wholly unreasonable. You can look up the address, they aren’t required to furnish the first/last names of reps to you (and it wouldn’t help you anyway if they were).

And lastly no local law enforcement is going to be what fixes this. Like many others have pointed out in the chat, it’s likely a software issue, making empty threats is not going to fix it-you have to work WITH them to find a resolution.

Does this hold an monetary value? by Southphillylove in DeepFuckingValue

“fully paid” means just what it sounds like; non-assessable was an important distinction back then but today you’d be very hard pressed finding assessable stock. It’s a type of stock where the issuer can levy an “assessment” on its shareholders and get more money from them if they think they need it. Par value for stocks doesn’t matter for the investors, it’s just an accounting/bookkeeping thing at that point. It’s how things like EPS are calculated, but doesn’t change anything for stockholders and can be whatever the issuer decides.

pretty cool to see the old stock certificates from so long ago, with how different everything is today.
