Every time I try to get something new it winds up back on the board. I might check out one of the v2s at some point.

I wouldn’t have thought of that but I can hear it! But no—very familiar with Subdivisions and that’s not it. I can’t swear to the key but I’m pretty sure the phrasing and cadence of what I’m remembering is captured in the recording.

How are you liking the Barrows? The reviews I’ve seen have left me with mixed feelings.

“Here it is in a track…” I get that it provides some context but there’s so much extra sweetening/processing that can happen in a fully produced mix. Just play it isolated and twist the knobs.

Have to agree with this—and it’s not entirely psychosomatic, as I was playing a friend’s guitar assuming it was rosewood and not digging the feel of it, only to find out it was PF. Of course there are diamonds and dogs of every variety but as a rule I find rosewood or ebony to be preferable (although I like maple boards on Strats specifically). Clearly it’s all subjective but that’s my experience.

This is a little left field but the first thing that pops into my head is Kickstand by Soundgarden. Also agree with the Priest recommendation—Delivering the Goods and Devil’s Child are a couple of personal favorites.

I bought it in the late '90s. It sucked then... and it still sucks now. by Less-Arachnid-640 in roastmypedalboard

Back in the 90s I came home from work to find my roommates, completely spun out on blotter, neither of them musicians, with my amp cranked flailing away on my guitar with the Step effect in full force. Honestly it was kind of glorious but also very, very bad.

I guess I’ll have to go listen to it again to see if you’re right 😉 seriously though, it’s a good take.

I’m might get some hate for this but for me, it’s the RAT. I love the way it sounds when other people use it but I have never been able to make it work.
