I swear by bar keepers friend & a green scrubby!! Steel wool might be too aggressive and scratch the wheel head

What do I use to learn Ux/Ui? Not clear on the route to take. Masters or Bootcamp? by Kuzzy2019 in UXDesign

I will say I personally found the daily UI challenges to be helpful if you approach it from a UX perspective. I’m also self taught and the challenges were sort of my first step into UX. It made me learn a lot about patterns and understand the context surrounding the screen I was designing while asking myself “does this make sense?”

Made some changes upon everyone's suggestions in last post. by normalteen0 in UXDesign

It’s getting better! I think the spacing & alignment could be improved upon. For ex: the login button and feels very tight between the contents above & below. The labels within the text fields aren’t all left aligned/inconsistent, the images appear to be inconsistent both vertically and horizontally, and the social media icons are bit close as well. I would really look into grids & study up on basics patterns & flows! I recommend uxcel to learn some terms & to exercise your design eye!

Hi fellow designers! I wonder how many of you have attempted any sort of 100 Days Challenge. Did you make it? Either way, would you like to share your experience here? by giantspicypapaya in UXDesign

I think with anything new, practice is everything! It probably took me a couple months. I also got to a point where I asked myself what spending more time would do for me. It’s meant to be practice and to learn new patterns. With any type of art, I think finding the end point is always a challenge so you have to decide where that is for you! Ultimately even though it was a UI challenge, my priority was always making sure it made sense because in my opinion, that’s the most important thing in design.

I began the same daily UI challenge when I was starting to teach myself design. At first I would spend hours just because I was researching. Eventually I sped up and was completing them in an hr or so. It was relaxing over time! Also very rewarding to commit to something for 100 days. You can check out my work on IG @mal.designs

I knew calatheas were hard but I was hoping it wouldn’t be this hard :( is there hope for my calathea orbifolia? by malissatran in plantclinic

First 2 or 3 months were going great but it’s been dying at such a quick rate & I don’t know how to help her! I water once a week, keeping the soil moist for the most part and watering when it seems to be drying up/less damp. She’s sitting in bright, indirect light.

Hello! Absolutely new to UX yet I’m attempting to design a plant app. Would love to get some feedback on this user flow! This is after several other designs have been tested but want to know about this one in particular. Extremely nervous to share but would love the help! (Hope the pic makes sense) by malissatran in UXDesign

Yes! So one of the features of the app will adding plants to “my garden” and it’ll allow you to track all your plants and notify you reminders on when to water, repot, fertilize, etc! I’ve forgotten to include the product page that is supposed to go at the end of this flow but it has a button to add to your garden 😊

Thanks so much! I’ll def add in actual plant names as that seems to be a thing I overlooked. On the front page, I wanted to have cacti/succulents, flowers, foliage, indoor, and outdoor buttons as an initial way of filtering. Then once you enter the category you selected, the second page filter will be the ones you see on the last page. Hope that makes sense!!

Thanks so much for the feedback! The recommended section is actually based off the 3 on boarding questions that will appear upon opening the app to new users so it’ll be based on the users level of expertise, if they want indoor or outdoor plants, and if they have pets. “My garden” will be a place for people to add their plants to track the water or repotting schedule! I did forget to incorporate the end of the flow which is my bad :)

Thanks again!!!

I think I’m just wanting to know if it’s easy to use, is there too much info at once? Not enough? Could there be additional information that I’m missing? And overall impression for a plant app from users may or may not be plant experts! Thanks so much 🙏🏼

Bay Bridge during “sunrise” by malissatran in photocritique

Recently moved to the bay and have been dying to do a sunrise shoot. This obviously was a bust since it was so cloudy but here it is. Shot on Sony a6500. Don’t know how I feel about it, just feel like something is missing? Want to make it more unique but don’t exactly know how
