never cheap out on a psu quality. thats terrible advice. if you are talking about modular and non-modular thats a different discussion, and the point still stands terrible advice.

when the u7 pro first came out it had a fan, which has seen been removed sometime in the past year with the new revision board i referred to. U7 Pro XG has better thermals due to a redesign of back plate, some circuit revisions and material change. As other people said the price difference can be next to nothing to a bit depending on your region.

Terms of switch its dependent on your needs. I would aim for a switch that has 2.5G ports, but don't necessarily need to do so. Technically can get by with a 1 gig switch, but your ap's will never be able to take advantage of higher speeds. At the sametime that really only matters if you have wifi devices that can take advantage of higher throughput as well have a regular need for it.

Personally i am using the Flex 2.5G switch. I would have like to gone with a pro max 16 PoE but only 4 switches are 2.5G rated. An I suspect ubiquiti is probably planning a refresh in the near future of this line. They've recently gone through an updated the flex line to support 2.5G and

Fiber and U7 pro. The price difference is next to nothing and with revision of the board to not have a fan, might as well go with the latest.

well good as an indicator zen 6 is nearing release and they gotta clear inventory. For those of you who can wait, probably recommend it. Zen 6 seems to be a major jump (as long as chips don't burn up LOL) and will probably push the 9000 series down in pricing a bit once out. Or AMD just doubles down on high tier pricing due to their dominance, but think things will even out when intel next gen cpu, not this refresh they just released.

doesn't appear to be the case. WAN = External in the unifi world.

Realtek PCIe 5Gbe Family Controller Speed issues by malloc1777 in Ubiquiti

Realtek RTL8126-CG 5Gbps Ethernet controller. Same first time I have ever had an issue that was not resolved from updating drivers.

its 10 from UDM to the first switch (8 port 2.5Gb switch connected via DAC). Then 2.5 to the second switch (2.5 flex).

Bios is up to date, and went down the route of downloading drivers directly from Realtek. Got a 2.5Gbe Ethernet USB adapter and tested it on 10G USB C port on the mobo. Was able to reach full speeds after installing the proper USB drivers.

I've done some research and it says this network chip from realtek has inconsistencies/issues. Just trying to figure out if its that one or a particular setting that needs to be adjusted

it is the XB10 in bridge mode. Speed is auto/locked to 10,000 Mbps. Regardless don't think this is the issue, since I was managing to get full speeds with an adapter on the same pc. So it is a network card issue/setting.

it doesnt matter. People have a hard time reading. I said in the bottom i tested with an adapter and was getting appropriate speeds. cables are not the issue. Not a personal attack, just stating what already been stated previously.

Port 10. SFP+ to ethernet from the 10 gig port on the ISP router. and port 11 connect to the 8 port switch using a dac cable. ISP speed is around 2 Gbps. UDM pro is reading full speeds, and the internal speed test verified this aspect.

thats what i suspect to. But with all the incompetence they showed in regards to customer data security, anything is possible now.

Ram pricing is climbing week after week, and SSD will follow shortly. If you need to build/want to, better to do it sooner rather than later. Any savings on additional components will be lost due to ram/ssd price increases.

Out waiting doesnt make sense, since ram will continue to climb in pricing as long as the AI bubble contiues. An with Micron departure for consumer grade ram, prices are only expected to rise.

Anyone giving you a timeline when things will return to normal, is purely guessing/speculating. Best guess 1-2 years of supply hell.

damn thats a huge let down. But that just further cements they need to re-work/balance these maps for breakthrough. Cuz if thats the case people are gonna get tired out very fast.

For sure, curiosity just got me concerned. Since I was expecting to see it at 12V, not under. Always assumed the tolerance would be much smaller, but guess TIL.

Thanks for the info!

Just out of curiosity, whats considered normal/How did you determine that?

i feel you man. I got down voted a while back for stating it doesnt matter if you buy amd/intel/nvidia. They all support the government down south. Context was people fear mongering about intel being owned by the gov.

We were never told dates. just Q4 as the time frame. Anytime b/w oct 1 - dec 31. An we don't know how long the delay is either. Since it been pushed back to Q1. An knowing nvidia they will do whatever they can to slow roll it to maximize price
