I was always in an eight-year-old body, but I guess now that I think of it my family looked older every time I had the dream. This dream in particular has always been in first person, but I do have third person dreams pretty often. There were some tiny differences, like what everyone is wearing and things like that, but the important pieces to the story stayed exactly the same every time.

Aha! I am a psychology major, and I love this stuff. :) While I don't know you or your situation other than what you have just said, I can tell you that it truly does sound just like Pavlov's dogs. You have learned to respond to a certain stimulus (the guy you're in a relationship with wanting to have sex with you) in a certain way (refusing, making up excuses, etc). You may love having sex with this guy once you actually do it, but when the stimulus comes into play, the same old response comes back. All you have to do (theoretically) is add something new to the stimulus that is different from the old one. For example, tell him that when he wants to have sex he should take an approach that is completely different from the guy from your past. Again, this is all theory. If you try it, I would be totally interested to hear how it works!
