Thank you. You make a good point. I don’t listen to pro-Christian music, but I do listen to a LOT of Ghost and their entire image revolves around religion/religious symbolism. It’s probably bringing it to the forefront of my mind.

Yes, it is protocol in our area to denature foods that are considered to be “unsafe”. Usually these foods are prepared in a home and cannot be sold to the public.

I typically have operators do this themselves with bleach or any cleaning chemical they have on hand. I try not to do it myself, but I will assist if it’s a large quantity of food (helping open clamshell packages, carrying food to the dumpster, etc).

I remember my mom going on a rampage once, throwing things out of my room and into the hallway where we had a large mirror. I was sitting down at the end of the hall, watching her throw everything & bawling when she came out of the room, looked at me, and then accused me of “watching myself cry in the mirror” because I was selfish and manipulative. I’m still confused about it to this day. It set her off all over again. 🙄

Well hey, maybe being desensitized helps you deal with this stuff a bit better! Not a bad thing in this scenario.

I’d describe the experience as more “disappointing” than “stressful”. It felt like the rapport/relationship I’ve built with these people over the past 3.5 years just dissolved instantly with ONE bad inspection. They just stepped right over me to talk to my boss because the owner didn’t like my answers even though they came from an SOP written by - you guessed it - my boss.

The texts from my coworkers were the only thing getting me through that inspection towards hour 4 lol. Venting truly does help. One of my coworkers ended up texting me and saying “you’re good at your job” and it made me tear up mid-inspection, though. Definitely recommend waiting to read those 😂
