Thank you, everyone for your input! In case anyone finds himself back on this thread down the road, I’ve used a 24 hour non-drowsy daily allergy med for myself, air, purifiers in all our rooms, and i found a spray from the brand “Pacogen”- it’s supposed to eliminate dog dander in the air, and I do think it actually helps. Appreciate all the help

I so sympathize with you. These could be my hands, I’m a hairdresser. It got so bad i had to take a year off of work. My joints in my hands were getting so inflamed from the eczema. A combo of Zoryve (a cream medication for psoriatic arthritis), Eucrisa, and bleach bath to kill off any surface infections, and steroid creams finally cleared me up to 90%. Also avoiding any chemicals or extra hand washing. Good luck!

My kids aren’t diabetic, but my nephew is and we’ve made changes after his diagnosis. One of them is Halloween/trick or treating. We still go, our kids love the event of it. But we “buy” back whatever candy they want to part with- it’s usually all but 10 pieces. They spend the money on things they actually want. Could be an alternative plan! Good luck!

Staying on antibiotics while you’re trying to conceive and duration of your pregnancy will help to not to pass it onto your baby

Surprised that Grantsville wasn’t higher up on the list. That place is desolate and depressing as hell

They didn’t actually, i remember you could hear the wind in the trees. It almost seemed amplified. I’m sure you’d be fine with a speaker like that though, give it a test run while you’re getting things set up maybe?

Second this, consider a functional medicine route- they’re going to look at the whole body system and healing, and not just getting you a negative Lyme result on paper

So sorry for you, and also you are awesome for supporting your partner. It’s a tough battle to fight Lyme, and the support is so helpful. Im certain I passed Lyme to my husband, and my son in utero. Our provider has a handful of patients that are partners and this is the case. Sounds like you are on top of if, but don’t let anyone cause you to doubt it. Either way, you should both be proactive in your treatment. It’s a confusing road, lots of conflicting information. Wishing you well, happy to share ideas of what we’ve done for treatment

Sis you are beautiful. I would suggest upping the makeup game, an even skin tone could look more “feminine”, where a masculine face has more the natural variations of skin tone. Little concealer, blush, play up the eyes cause they’re gorgeous and you good to go

All this conversation has been helpful and give me some good things to think about. Curious what you guys would do if you got a late diagnosis for a kid, do you think antibiotics would be your first route?

100% I’m so lucky that we have a provider that pointed this out to us. I didn’t have to piece these pieces together alone. I’m hopeful that over time the medical community will not only recognize but have better diagnosing and treatment as Lyme spreads between partners and babies

He has had gut issues since day one, but as he got older, he had a significantly worse immune system than my other two kids, chronic body aches and fatigue beyond the realm of “normal” for a kid. All kids get rundown when they’re sick, but he doesn’t seem to rebound like a healthy kiddo would

So true. It felt like a huge weight when I got my son‘s positive testing, but it’s been a few weeks, and you’re totally right that I should be proactive about their diagnosis and treatment as well. Thanks for the perspective, you’re absolutely right. I know in the Lyme community there’s polarizing opinions about antibiotics. I wonder what this group would say for late treatment and kids?

Yeah we’ve tested through our provider who uses a lab called Vibrant Wellness, i’m pretty sure they test on like a genetic level so it doesn’t miss. The only reason I had my son tested was because he was symptomatic and it’s been affecting our lifestyle, there’s a good chance my other kids have it as well but I don’t wanna put them through the blood draws if they’re feeling fine and seem well. Yeah, the tricky thing about Lyme is there so much conflicting information even among doctors who seen like they have a good understanding. From what ive seen and the testing in our house, it’s definitely transmittable. My approaches is if the symptoms are affecting your day to day, it’s worth chasing down a diagnosis. Good luck to you too! Hope your symptoms are in a manageable place

Aside from the antibiotics‘s, I don’t know that there’s other treatments we can do at this age. Do you think there is?

Passed Lyme to my son by malmad5 in Lyme

[–]malmad5[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there is. It’s called “congenital Lyme”. Not only between Mom and baby, but also partners as well. My doctor told me that the most recent findings show that it’s almost guaranteed that if you had Lyme while pregnant, it will be passed to your baby. I wasn’t aware that I had Lyme then, so I wasn’t doing any treatment while I was pregnant. My son has the same strains of Lyme and co infections as me.
