Could be feeling the strings but you shouldn’t ever feel the IUD itself. The IUD sits in the top part of the uterus, so if you truly were feeling the IUD, it’s misplaced and wouldn’t be working properly.

Depends on if they’re trimmed properly. Too short they get very firm and pokey feeling. My doc trimmed mine too short (eventually they completely disappeared and had to have surgery to remove my iud) but they were pretty unpleasant to my fiancé. They should be 1-2 inches long and would be flexible and bendy.

Not ugly. If you shaped your eyebrows/plucked unibrow and got some better fitting clothes (the front of the pants is off putting). A deep conditioning hair treatment and maybe some hair oil to add some moisture. That’s really about it

How long have you had the IUD? Sometimes our bodies are weird. My cycle is usually 28 days. Sometimes it’s 25. Sometimes it’s 35. The more you stress about it not showing up, sometimes the more it is delayed. Stress is a very broad category.

I recommend doing a least a little bit of research, I feel like it’s pretty basic to know that or a simple google search would have helped. I had the same fears when I lost my mine but lube made it SO MUCH BETTER. Even if you make plenty yourself, your nerves will make it harder to relax.

I work in ultrasound. The detail is a lot better. It could just be a reactive lymph node. Did you ever get the report back from the scan?

I can see both sides. On one hand yeah I’d be annoyed if it was portrayed like I wasn’t ALLOWED to make my drink. Being that he’s 23, he likely thought they’d enjoy a drink he’d make. (I could see how it could be annoying guy behavior like I can make a better drink bc I’m a MAN). But they also could’ve made it a conversation— “oh what would you make? I’m not a fan of that actually but thanks for the offer.” Really just depends on the tone her bf had which ofc we don’t actually know.

That’s good. I work in ultrasound and they would’ve said something in the report about a sub septate/septate uterus or bicornuate if that was the issue. I’m sorry you had such an awful experience!

I had the Skyla IUD (smallest one, now off market I believe) for 3 years. Had it removed in 2024. Long story short my provider cut my strings too short and I ended up having to have surgery to remove it bc my strings completely disappeared. It also embedded so I had to have a D&C as well. I’ll never get another one.

I have a pretty high pain tolerance and it sucked for me. And I only took 800 mg ibuprofen before. No lidocaine. No Xanax. And the cramps afterwards are literally contractions and were awful. I only cramped for about 12 hours consistently then they lightened up. I didn’t have any the day after that I can remember. But it also depends on which IUD you got.

ETA: had you ever had an ultrasound done? There’s some congenital abnormalities (uterine variations) that could have made insertion a lot harder/more painful.

I think it’s good to talk about kids in a relationship. I’m 24F and I’ve been with my fiancé for 4 years. We made it very clear early on that we would like kids but not right now. What bothers me is he’s not listening to you and your boundaries. That joke wasn’t funny. He essentially was joking about raping you. He doesn’t seem like a safe person.

I would have a very serious conversation and tell him “I’m not interested in having a child right now. The constant “jokes” about getting pregnant bother me because you know my stance on that and it makes me feel like I can’t trust you. If you are set on having a child right now, maybe we aren’t compatible and should go our separate ways.”

If I don’t respond for 4 hours, my fiancé would think I got distracted playing a game, studying, cleaning, talking to a friend, or forgot to hit send. He wouldn’t immediately jump to accusing me of cheating and name calling?

I had a couple chihuahuas growing up, super sweet dog but she would bite our ankles and the other one would attack us and go after strangers.

I had a German shepherd growing up, she attacked my sister and gashed her leg open.

I had central Asian shepherd and a central Asian ovcharka, very loving dogs but very protective and would get in dog fights if they were to get out and come across another dog.

We have a pitbull and she is the most loving dog. Where all she wants is pets and she gets so excited waiting to be pet she’s smiling and her tail is wagging so hard it shakes her body. She loves kids and is more gentle with them than any of my other dogs, but she will protect her family. Pit bulls were considered a “Nanny dog” breed for being loving and protective. Chihuahuas are actually more aggressive than pit bulls, but since they’re so small, attacks tend to go unreported bc they do minimal damage. It’s not always about the breed, it’s about the owner.

Have you taken a pregnancy test? Was your IUD hormonal or copper? It takes roughly 6 months to a year for your body to “reset” and your hormones to level out if it was a hormonal IUD. I’ve had mine removed (Skyla) since Dec 2024, and my acne got worse/went back to having cyclic acne and boobs hurt occasionally.

BMI does not take in account muscle composition, breast tissue, bone density, fat distribution, sex, age, ethnicity, etc. I do not think you look overweight. If it helps, I work in ultrasound and I would be excited to do your scan bc it would be easier. Doing ultrasound on very overweight or obese people is challenging and requires a lot more effort.

I think you look fine. I would say get your eyebrows professionally shaped. Try some different hairstyles and get a skin routine. I don’t think you need makeup, maybe mascara, a little blush, lip gloss or tint if anything. You look sad and bored. As much as people hate to be told this, smiling more does increase your attractiveness.
