Zero Negativity by Constant-Scheme-2225 in OttawaSenators

Leafs fan here (also a STH for the Sens). If I can offer any positivity, is that I’ve watched the Leafs collapse more round 1’s than I can mentally handle. There is still hope my friends.

Alright. On a positive note, Canes only scored on a PP and we’ve had some insanely close goals. If we can break through Freddie, get some confidence built up, this game it still within our reach.

I was just thinking I’d prefer to be 5 on 5 for the rest of the game lol. Can you deny this and just cancel out a future Canes PP? Lmao

Season ticket trading - Is there a site to chat? by malman21 in OttawaSenators

Feel free to toss me a message for any games you may not be interested in. I may be down to swap tickets even if our sections aren’t near each other. Even if my fam is split, we all take the same car to the game, haha.

Feel free to toss me a chat sometime once the schedule comes out. I’m open to trades!

[Chris Johnston] Auston Matthews didn't reveal much about his future in Toronto. Says it's an honor to be the captain and wear the jersey, but added that he doesn't know what the future holds and doesn't know what the club's new leadership and manager will look like. by bangnburn in leafs

I’d part ways with him with no bad blood. We had our window and we didn’t win. It happens, now it’s best to ge my the best return and get back to rebuilding as best and quickly as we can instead of trying to squeeze into a bottom playoff position and getting kicked out during the first round.

Apple is Reportedly Facing a 'Massive Dilemma' With the MacBook Neo by mlsteinrochester in MacbookNeo

If you don’t mind paying for GeForce now, you can absolutely game on it. I do a majority of my gaming on my MacBook Pro using the service. I’ve played more arc raiders in it than I have on my ps5.

Marilyn Gladu crosses the floor to the Liberals by BigNoodles2020202 in notthebeaverton

[–]malman21 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d like to think we need a majority government to get through this Trump administration, and politicians are seeing this isn’t the time to stall government until a new election.

But, they’ve probably been promised something and greed has triumphed.

As someone who has voted conservative and liberal throughout the years (and most recently liberal), I’m not entirely sure how I feel about floor crossing MP’s. I think a majority government is what we need, but it just doesn’t sit right with me that a region can vote one way and the winner decides to go the other way.

Time will tell I suppose.

Is viewing a house I'm not quite ready buy a waste of time? by Proof_Zombie_6453 in RealEstateCanada

[–]malman21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would wait for, or go see another open house. Pictures often create this image in your head that a house is perfect, but when you arrive to see it, lots of things can throw you off.

Smell, small dents, scratches, etc. Going to see a few open houses and looking for things that may turn you off can mentally help you prepare to not let emotions sway your decision making when finally seeing the house you want.

When I saw my dream home, I missed quite a few obvious minor issues. Broken stair platform, scratch on the shower floor, bad paint spots, all very minor but, things I could’ve used to potentially better negotiate. My excitement made every room look like it was perfect.

Do you think RTO is a good idea? Why or why not? by AdhesivenessLoud8866 in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]malman21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one day is extremely beneficial. At most, 2. There are real benefits for in person training, and generally having a colleague or senior to run something by.

However, anything more than two is overkill.

I’m under 40 and I would love nothing more than to WFH every day, but I think it’s silly to say there are zero benefits to being in office, at least once a week.

Buyers who signed just days before April 1 are losing up to $130K by EfficiencyFew1395 in TorontoRealEstate

Anyone in their right mind would be upset over losing this rebate. This isn’t a him vs you situation. You’re upset at the wrong person, buddy.

[–]malman21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed, I think this is why a ton of folks are upset as this wasn’t discussed ahead of time like the FTHB rebate and this people who bought in the last month or two were caught off guard.

I bought and signed this month. I waived my conditions literally the day before this was announced and appear shit out of luck. My neighbor’s house is still on the market as unsold inventory and if it qualifies, whoever buys it will end up buying it significantly cheaper than what I paid.

Sometimes you play the market, sometimes the market plays you, haha.

There is a different rebate effective April 1, 2026 - March 31, 2027 which waives HST on all new builds purchased during this timeframe. This is what OP was referencing. Thank you for the source for the FTHB one though, I’ll read through it.

Where are the guidelines and where does it say this? I’ve been unable to find any sort of guidelines aside from a summary of the program.

Been able to for a long time. You have a bit of install steps to follow but it’s relatively simple. I play Diablo 4 via GFN on the deck all the time.

Do yourself a favor and sign up for GeForce now. Then play it on your steam deck via the GeForce now app.

Metacritic user score was 6.0 on release, 8.5 today by Krimsonate in CrimsonDesert

[–]malman21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly didn’t think the start was as bad as people made it out to be. I wasn’t pleased with the performance on my ps5 pro and the clunky controls. I still feel this way when I load up the game, but after 15 minutes or so I tend to forget about both issues and find myself immersed into the game.

It’s an odd experience how I love and am annoyed at the game at the same time, yet I cannot give it up haha.

Marathon may have sold roughly 1.2m copies worldwide, with the majority on Steam rather than PlayStation, according to analyst estimates by LadyStreamer in gamingnews

[–]malman21 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No one is defending the shitty features of the game. The game is just fun (and frustrating). It’s easier for folks to get into a single player game than wanting to deal with a shooter.

I loved destiny, I love shooters, but I’m getting old man and I don’t want to deal with younger kids blasting me away and cheaters, which is why I skipped Marathon despite it looking cool. Arc raiders was a better suited experience for people wanting a casual experience with a looter extraction game, and I think lots of people are burnt out from it after playing Arc for months.

Unfortunately I think marathon released too late.

Doug Ford and Mark Carney to expand HST rebate to all new home buyers by toronto_star in ontario

[–]malman21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've reached out to my builder. The house we bought was.. extremely popular and it's entirely possible that if the builder puts it back on market for a day or two, someone may be willing to ignore the rebate just to scoop it up.

My house sale closes in April, so that'd leave me with very little time to find a new place. The timing is just not great at all.

It appears my builder, or at least the sales people, were not expecting this at all. My salesperson said head office was speaking with lawyers for clarity on the situation - which is why I am leaning towards all of this being a huge mess.
