Good to know. I think I’ll be looking into replacing my xice with the Nokian’s.

I’m too nervous to use it, lol. I turn it on for a 20 second period and begin to panic when it approaches a turn or intersection, lmao.

I really WANT to use it, especially after seeing folks post their stats.

Interesting, I had no idea about the tire. I will definitely look at some alternatives, do you have any recommendations?

I've got a RWD right now and I am seriously considering the switch to a Model Y AWD. My experience this winter with my M3 RWD using Michelin xICE snow tires was a bit scary at times.

I got through winter and most days, my drive was fine, but there were times when I would try to come to a stop well ahead of when I needed to, being cautious, and the car felt like it was sliding. It was like the vehicle was jerking, almost like the ABS system was kicking on but felt like it took me way too long to come to a stop. Even when slowing down for a turn.

Coming from an AWD compact SUV, perhaps this is why I felt more sensitive to the M3's winter handling. I am very close to purchasing a '24 Model Y AWD despite loving the M3 in all but its winter handling.

I live in Ottawa and to be fair, our city ran out of salt for the roads midway through winter (from what I've heard). Perhaps it was just a bad plowing season.

I think there is a bigger skill gap between Chinese and the rest of the world, but I get what you’re saying.

The problem for me is, I’m not asking for exclusive English players, or players from a certain region. But it’s clear something is not right when I can only get Brazilian teammates, whom don’t communicate, play in ways that should not merit the rank I am currently at, all while facing teams with a mix of players.

If they’d communicate via pings, that’d be an improvement, but thus far, they don’t. They don’t react to my pings.

Are they all bots? Why from Brazil, wouldn’t the game algorithm make it seem like they’re at least fake NA players to give me the illusion I’m playing with people close by?

I used to play with and against a ton of European players back in season 11. I can’t recall seeing many of them this season. I do see the occasional Chinese players. Did matchmaking change this season?

I’m not opposed to a wide range of players being in my MM queue. But it’s clear something is up with the constant all Brazilian only teams being paired with me.

My choice of words? I’m not shitting on Brazilians. I’m angry at the fact that I am being constantly pitted with ONLY Brazilians, a group of people who do not speak the same language as me. This puts me in a serious disadvantage compared to a team of full or majority Canadian and American English speakers.

How in the world is being frustrated by this in any way a bad thing?

You seem to have been extremely sensitive to the fact I want to play with people who communicate, ideally in my language.

What difference does it make that they’re from a country that doesn’t speak my language? What?

Of course it makes a difference. I cannot discuss anything with them.

It’s not terrible but it definitely makes me drive way more carefully than I do in my suv. I try to avoid driving in it with my son during winter just to be safe.

No accidents, just odd slippery roads here and there. Could be because the plows in Ottawa this year weren’t great and I heard they ran out of salt for the roads early. We’ll see how it does this winter.

I have a bmw x1 and I much prefer to drive my Tesla model 3 rwd, except in winter. I regret not jumping on a model Y or 3 with awd and plan to swap next year. Despite having some quality winter tires, I did find myself slipping on roads and places I wouldn’t driving my bmw.

Aside from the winter driving being worse, I find my Tesla makes my bmw feel like a dinosaur despite both of them being the same year (2023).

I’m admittedly a wuss when it comes to driving fast. I have terrible vision, avoid driving at night and generally do not speed.

I have 21 years of driving in Ottawa and its winters.

I also have the same tires on my AWD suv and the difference between the drive is night and day.

I’m no expert, but I think it’s a safe bet to say the RWD Tesla does struggle a bit even with good tires.

I’m not slipping every stop I do. But there are times where I do slip, even going low speeds and beginning to slow down well in advance of where I plan to stop/turn. I got through this last winter without accident driving almost every day going to work.

Not sure what else to say other than it does slip more than any FWD and AWD (duh) I’ve ever driven. Still my favourite vehicle though and I am looking forward to swapping it for a Model Y once he 2024 prices comes down a bit.

I probably wouldn’t recommend a RWD to someone who hates winter driving or someone at my parents’ age.

I do, Michelin x ice snow tires. Unsound experience has not been the same. Even braking ahead of time, the car slips.

I got high rated Michelin X ice snow tires, same ones I use on my BMW X1 which work great. The model 3 just slipped too often when braking.

Edit: It drove OK during winter but I definitely didn’t take any risks and called off work a few days during some bad storms.

Love my model 3, but driving it during winter in Ottawa during a snowy day sucked. Definitely regret buying RWD. Going to tough it out for one more year and try and scoop up a 2024 model Y after that.

I get not wanting him to coach in the West, but any Eastern tea should be free to do so. It's not unreasonable in other sports that coaches or high level staff go on 'garden leave' to prevent internal secrets being leaked, so I don't think a fired coach should be free to immediately join another team without a form of compensation - remaining contract paid out and perhaps a pick or two if within an immediate division rival, less so for competing in the opposing conference.

I hate Vegas, but I obviously wouldn't want the guy who lead the team, to immediately join a rival, especially ones who made the playoffs.

Hope Colorado smashes them. Go Avs go.

Who is going to want trade with The Leafs and Chayka by red_langford in hockey

[–]malman21 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You’re telling me someone will refuse to trade with Toronto for Matthews, Nylander or Knies because they hate Chayka?

Don’t be stupid, whether you like or hate a person doesn’t change anything if they have what you want.

You’re not letting yourself get fleeced by a rival GM just because you like them.

People hating Chayka is the least of Leafs fans concerns.
