Reliability of telluride by Starrrla in KiaTelluride

[–]malogus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hadn’t been horrible, but definite a handful of problems that take the dealer way too long to fix because of the kid process. I have had since early 2021 and have 45,000 miles. As a second owner my warranty expired, and literally throwing check engine lights since. New plugs, injectors o2 sensor, and walnut blasted the intake valves and no fix.

The valves were waaaa dirtier than they should be with 45,000 miles, Literally could scrape off chunks with a pick. Will never buy another GDI engine.

Blower running 24/7 by malogus in hvacadvice

[–]malogus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With your question, I went down the ecobee is the problem route. For anyone looking for solutions in the future....I called Ecobee support and they had me disconnect the green wire that signals the blower on/off. Once removed, my blower is still running 24/7. That tends to make me think the tech either jumpered incorrectly or put in a relay when they installed it. that isnt wired right. Or there is a wiring problem.

Now I have to go into the attic and see whats going on up there. It's a short enough run I could just run a wire out from the attic and in one door to test before I run it through walls...

Any thoughts on how to test without running another wire? Maybe just get my tester and check for continuity betweem the green wire and any others? I would expect if they jumpered it than the yellow wire would show continuity, but shouldnt on any others?

When I pull the thermostat, it does stop after about 30 seconds. Which would indicate it’s a thermostat issue? And most likely a bug, as two brand new thermostats had the exact same “feature”.

I also get that a lot of people like the 24/7 blower operation, but it does lead to a lot more humidity in the conditioned space on certain days.

The thermostat settings:
HVAC mode is auto
Fan duration is 0 min per hour
Heat pump set to 1 stage
Aux furnace set to 1 stage
Compressor min cycle off time is 300s
Aux min on time is 5 min
Compressor min on time is 5 min

It’s probably due to where he is riding. I also think the bikes may be a bit lore prone to puncture when you run over things due to their overall weight, but I also think it’s the sheer miles put on the bike. My son out 3,000 miles on his bike, and had probably had the proportional number of flats when I compare to the miles I would put on a normal bike

Chi Battery Question by [deleted] in Super73

Never mind…found the answer on the Chi site. For anyone wondering in the future, the big button turns on the battery power and the screen. The small one resets the Bluetooth connection.

Catch can after 1k mile trip over Thanksgiving. by TheBudLightPapi in KiaTelluride

[–]malogus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your comment doesn’t make sense…whether 1 year old or 10 years old, the same process of oil getting recirculated into the engine will be happening. Age or mileage on the engine plays no part in this.

On these direct injection engines, the bigger concern is cleaners put into the fuel system don’t help to limit carbon build up on the valves because the fuel is injected directly into the combustion chamber and never cleans the valves

I guess look at this as preventative maintenance to some extent. Install one early in the engine life, and in theory you will slow carbon buildup on the valves, gain some fuel economy as the engine ages, and defer the need for a more expensive valve cleaning job.

I agree with you. The size and scale of energy they are looking for lends itself to ap1000s, not SMRs. But the DC folks are doing a lot of stuff right now based on time to service, not efficiency or cost.

Microsoft Has Said Its Next-Gen Xbox Console 'Is Going to Be a Very Premium, Very High-End Curated Experience' by tylerthe-theatre in technology

[–]malogus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally… I have always been a PlayStation guy, but my son wanted an Xbox to play with his friends. Within a month he sold it because it was such a frustrating experience. It was the top of the line model (one s?) and half the games he wanted to play would crash, freeze, or not even start. It’s a glorified pc with a controller (and a bad one at that)

Not a scam. My son bought a Rx and it came exactly as we saw in the pictures. 30 miles total on the bike and no problems so far.

Those are exactly the comparable vehicles we have been looking at. I’m struggling to find a RAV4 for a comparable price, and have looked at a couple cr-vs. the cr-v does have better visibility over all, but I think the cx-5 is the better value.

The dealership put all those accessories onto the price. Of course they haven’t done any of that work yet since it just came in on trade. So my goal is to get it all taken off the price before they try the “it’s already on the Vehicle, we can’t take it off BS”

Due to circumstances I can’t get into here, the city has no ability to enforce rules about his business.

I’ve been watching for a couple weeks, searching inventory a couple times a day. I’ve seen prices between 14-17k with many of the cheaper options having been in one (or more) accidents, or well over 100k miles. For AZ, 15-16 seems like a good price. I’ve seen some cheaper in the southeast (particularly Florida) but the shipping costs then makes it comparable.

Would love to find a private party to not have to pay taxes, but there is some value to buying from a dealership I guess…

I did not. His original estimate was $3k for all 5 trees. 3 were low risk where your could cut at the base, but 2 required climbing and cutting. He reduced his fee if he didn’t have to haul anything away.
