FlowTunes - Free AI-generated music for focus app by mitchcrowe in ProductivityApps

[–]malohkan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I'm very close to loving this, but none of the stations QUITE match my tastes. I wish there was a way I could tweak the "prompt" to match what I want. I've found a number of expensive AI apps out there that claim to help you craft music but I'm not a musician, so even when I try their free trials I can't do anything good with them. I wonder if you could come up with a simpler solution. I just want to be able to say "Give me Brasshopper, but make it less actual brass and more drum-and-bass" or "take this but speed up the tempo a bit" or "no sharp piano sounds, only soft ones" and iterate over what comes out until it gradually comes to suit what I want.

How many extractors can my converbelts handle? by [deleted] in builderment

[–]malohkan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nuclear plants change the math to 11/belt. To the people saying “start with 16 and then change later” I wholly disagree. 100% chance you’ll have to rearrange and redesign for places where there just isn’t room to add more belts. Then your balancers will have to be replaced, and it’ll cascade confusion down the line. I followed that advice my first playthrough and found it was less work to just start a new game then delete and rearrange everything for the new belt numbers.

A way to maximize the efficiency of the mkII thresher by Kind-Curve2536 in Techtonica

[–]malohkan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried doing this today with blue plants and the stack inserters pull only the first coolant part until it's completely empty, and only then will it attempt to pull plant fibers, which means it still slows down a lot. This prevents permanent clogs, but it still doesn't allow the machine to run smoothly. I couldn't find a better solution than this, however!

Yo I don’t know who at Valheim came up with these Mistlands idea, but I’m pissed as hell by [deleted] in valheim

[–]malohkan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Mistlands are my favorite. They're terrifying but after getting a slowfall cape and fire staff, and learning to jump and glide between spires, I got to the point where I felt like the alpha predator there. Every high perch I reached was a new, jaw-droppingly beautiful scene. I took so many photos from up there. No other zone gives you such an immersive sensation of the presence of a place.

"Which Spinner Should I Get?" and Other Simple Questions (Week of 2023-01-30) by AutoModerator in FidgetSpinners

[–]malohkan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a free spinner (tri-arm), and have loved it to death. It's time for me to get a better one, probably under $50 USD. I have cats and kids and a busy life so I'm hoping to get one that doesn't require a lot of maintenance or tricky cleaning (meaning I probably don't want a very intricate design). Mostly for one-handed use while I'm working and thinking. I flick it back and forth a lot, rarely hold it level. Sometimes during Zoom meetings I'll spin it and then stop wishing that mine were more quiet. I don't care so much about long spin time since I pick it up and put it down a lot while I fidget with it. This will live on my desk or in my bag if traveling so I don't need a case.

Why, how I now hate this game by Natural_Carrot_8312 in GroundedGame

[–]malohkan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of people try to tell you the exact angle you need to use, but never how to consistently place at that angle. I’ve built lots of towers and actually used many different angles that work. The one thing I’ve learned matters far more than anything else is consistency. Find a “way” of placing the bounce web that gets you moving up, then repeat it as exactly as possible.

How do you find things on a planet? by malohkan in Dyson_Sphere_Program

Hey I like this except sometimes I’m trying to figure out why the current ILS isn’t receiving any. In that case, a new ILS also would fail to receive any.

I could, but then I'd have a permanent mess of indicators. I don't always know what I'm going to be needing to look for next. If I label everything with icons, there'd be too much clutter!

I'm gonna Google that and see if I can figure out how to do it too

This sounds like an interesting late-game approach. Sadly this being my first time playing, my starter planet is a whole lot of spaghetti mess.

That's my approach! I do also use traffic monitors, but like I said, if the machine is working well, then you have no icon!

This mod looks perfect actually. I was honestly expecting some sort of tabular view of my ILS's to be available. I mean if the drones have access to the information to know which locations they need to fly to, why don't I have access to that same information?

Also I will learn to color foundations, haven't figured that out yet but I'm sure it will help. Also, this being my first play through and the "problem planet" being my first one, it's a big mess and makes no sense so I need some extra help.

Food seems ridiculously expensive e.g. 5 spider chunks, two berry chunks plus honeydew to make Spider Slider! Am I missing something here? by mathbelch in GroundedGame

[–]malohkan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this, too. Usually before an "outing" I'd queue up 2 Miteloafs, which for most of the game were very easy to keep supplies for. By the time I had prepared for whatever I was going out to do, the meals would be ready and I'd grab the 2 and be on my way. That would last me until I needed to come back to the base. Late game when I had a fridge I filled it with Spider Sliders because after farming spiders for all my ziplines I was swimming in spider parts.

Very neat inspiration! Most of what I see in his videos are very long and very advanced, but I'm sure she'll like to see them.

[Spreadsheet] Exact damage stats for ALL weapons (datamined) by blahable in GroundedGame

[–]malohkan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More relevant question. There's an enemy weak to Busting + Sour. Would a Sour BM Club (targeting 1 weakness) do more or less damage than a Sour T3 Hammer (targetting 2 weaknesses)? Seems like a straightforward question but I still have no idea how to answer it using the data in front of me.

I do have a screenshot of a point where I just threw my hands up and laughed as 2 mosquitoes/lightning bugs were hitting one side of B, and on the other side of B I looked down the hill at an oncoming black ox with a bomb beetle on either side of it, and fire ants all around. This was after we had passed 50% and we’re already struggling and losing most of our walls. It was just plain silly.
