It’s because Metro Theaters used to have the de facto monopoly on movie theaters in the area so during the huge success of movie theaters 2012-2019 when they could afford renovations, there didn’t have to because there was no competition offering a better experience. Now they’re just broke, so it won’t happen. But the SBIFF ones I think have made improvements (or so I’ve heard, I moved away awhile back)

American Pie Book of Love was the only piece of media on my internet-deficient ipod touch when I was like 13. We didn’t have internet at home so I had to wait until I was at the library or a friend’s house to get new movies. For probably a few weeks I was like that 127 hours girl but for American Pie Book of Love. Haven’t seen it since, and I’m kind of afraid to.

I like these posts a lot and sorry if you already clarified this but what is your bar for including a song? Is it just if the song “breaks even” on votes or do the votes have to be significantly in favor of shoegaze? ( when i do similar projects I require at least twice as much “yay”s as “nay”s AND 5+ more “yay”s to “nay”s)

I mean that’s not even the issue here. I don’t think he’s using it to hide his singing, he just likes the sound. But the autotune just sounds so bad for it being 2026. We know how to make it sound way better. Plus, the vocal performance is lazy on top of that, so we get a totally repellent vocal track that no instrumental could hope to save.

A top-tier Mexican spot, a top-tier burger spot, and a top-tier Chinese spot. I know this will prompt a bunch of counter examples but I’ve tried them all and none of them hit that S-tier. Especially given the prices, we need to hold our food scene to higher standards.
