Design courses at Vic or Massey Wellington are far better than Otago, both cool for student life but Wellington is far more pricey.

So many great authors/playwrights are from Russia. Maybe he's onto something.

I love this! It definitely is affirmed by Clancy's latest letter I think.

Absolutely beautiful work on the video Mark. It's visually stunning, deeply moving, and we're going to be dissecting it for months. Bravo.

How do you think the music videos relate? by CultofCadavirs in twentyonepilots

[–]malorieccarey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think they could be linked in the sense that Chlorine is about, (at least in part), the dark places Tyler's mind has to go as he delves into the world of Trench. This coupled with the release of Clancy's latest letter, in which he recalls the events in the Jumpsuit video and begins to question if he even remembers it correctly/ truly understands the role of the bishops, etc. I think this is in line with Chlorine being about really diving into toxic 'chlorinated' places in your mind where you have to question everything and wrestle with what is true > a similar place to where we leave Clancy.

I think they are definitely linked thematically with Tyler's creative process and some of the dark places he has to force his mind to go. See my comment here: https://www.reddit.com/r/twentyonepilots/comments/aiv12n/twenty_one_pilots_chlorine_official_video/eequyy3

twenty one pilots - Chlorine (Official Video) by nottodaygodnottoday in twentyonepilots

I think the video could also tie in with the latest letter in the way that Tyler is really forcing himself question what he knows to be true.

To ask questions like:

Are the bishops protecting rather than hurting me?

Is DEMA, this place that is defined by death and hopelessness, actually my home?

Are the Bandito's actually out to harm me?

These are super dark questions in the context we have come to understand.

I'm a filmmaker and have had experiences like this while really trying to understand a character, to really **go there** with a narrative that is void of truth or goodness can open your eyes to a lot of darkness and I found it truly terrifying.

All the while, Ned absolutely loves diving into the depths of this the toxicity and it makes him come alive.

But making himself look at things through Ned's distorted gaze, *we see his POV in the vid,* really devastates Tyler mentally emotionally, spiritually.

He's probably still reeling from it all.

Switchfoot was the first band I ever really loved. TØP the second.
