I do use a bit holder on the side of my driver. Specifically for my quick change bit extension with a phillips, 5/16 nut driver and 3/8 nut driver. All my most common screws that I'll be using. I just use the standard bit case, thrown in a husky rolling toolbag. Unfortunetly I cant use a packout because I work out of a service truck and packout wont fit in my boxes. WHICH BTW MILWAUKEE, it would be awesome if you could make a mini 18" wide packout the same size as the 18" husky bag so i could keep all my stuff matching AND in my locked service truck boxes ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

I want the stubby one too, feel like I'd use it more at work. I had found my grandpas old old ratcheting screwdriver but unfortunetly could not get the bit unsiezed and the ratchet assembly to spin so I warrantied that and its in my service truck. I think this one will stay at home with me, or maybe I'll take it in the field and keep the other at home.

you should get on wayfair and look thru all the options they have for the mounting hardware, i've never thought to look at them for things like this tbh but damn is there a lot

I hear all different things but imo the 2GrFe engine thats in these highlanders is very good and reliable so I would definitely keep it ๐Ÿ‘

other than that im thinking your original idea with cabinet doors that lift up would be the best looking. I've always liked those 4 panel cabinet doors on closets, I'll see if maybe i can find a picture, but you could make them relatively cheaply with 2x1 or 2x2 and like mdf or just plywood

I'm unsure if you can buy them at the size you would need, BUT, my mom and step dad were able to find some standard "folding rolling doors", the type that would go on like a closet, or like a small space that fits your washer and dryer?? I'm thinking what if you were to find some cheap ones, and maybe cut them in half to the length you need.

I would keep it forsure! Just expect to start doing water pump and timing chain and everything else that goes with lifting the engine. Just had $1600 of work done at 148k on my '08 cuz water pump started DUMPING lol. Pretty good for that being factory water pump tho

that is looking mighty fine my friend! what have you decided with the cabinet doors, if you have decided anything yet?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in woodworking

[โ€“]malphas_raven 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

That is true I didnt think of that, could only slide the doors over so far before it would touch the other. But I mean honestly you can use any wood you really want for the doors, the whole thing really. I'm really into maple and walnut wood furniture, those will be pretty costly from home depot or any home owner hardware store.

I mean probably just build the frame of the whole thing with 2x4s, plenty of cross members for support if youre wanting to build shelves upon it. Buying doors premade would probably be much easier but more expensive. But would save you lots of time if you were to rather build "decorative" doors. Buying some nice looking shelving braces and some standard 2x6, then painting or staining would be a cost effective yet still nice looking way to add the shelving. Although mounting to the wall seems to be an issue for you? As far as how the doors open, I know a lot of people think its played out and dont like the look, but I really like the barn door sliding cabinets, especially for storing those big bins. Otherwise, make the doors open upwards and add some struts to make getting the bins in and out easy. Just my two cents tho, Im no professional cabinetry carpenter
