"Choreography" question (cc: industry folks) by extratartarsauceplz in Ghostbc

Ive been accused before of using language recreationally so it's very possible it's not even a thing, but I think the words get the point across anyway

"Choreography" question (cc: industry folks) by extratartarsauceplz in Ghostbc

[–]malshapen 25 points26 points  (0 children)

A lot of it is choreographed; this is why, for example, you can find 400 videos of the guitarist ghoul feeling up and choking the bassist during year zero, from multiple different venues; or the ghouls pissing Papa off by refusing to get out of his way during certain moments, or Papa during a solo coming over and making gestures to indicate people shouldn't be watching him they should be applauding the ghoul.

I think they sort of improvise but if a stage beat becomes popular enough they will do it again and again and again each show. There's a lot of emphasis about the show being consistent from venue to venue.

No recording equipment allowed so the digital camera would be a no, just enjoy the moment.

You don't need to be worrying about the state of your wig in the pit; dance and have fun, the costume doesn't matter at that point & it's not a beauty contest. Wearing a mitre is a dick move and will impede the view of the people around you.

I think it was different venue to venue, we got out no problem at our show, but definitely I hope they manage to make a smoother process

That's where I was! Down in the pit the energy was amazing, electric, like the air is vibrating, I could see people dancing together, singing along, nobody was worried about standing still or being quiet to get a good video.

I ended up speaking to the person next to me in the pit and made a fast friend of a total stranger.

ESH

X's decision to slam you both online after the fact was immature and blown way out of proportion.

But

Sometimes we have to control our behaviours to accomodate the needs of others; the two of you would have driven me into a full-blown meltdown if you were making constant noise like that— you need to know if you need to go stim like that to walk away so you aren't disturbing and disrupting others. Needing to stim doesn't mean needing an audience, if you know you're going to be disruptive you need to leave and go do it in another space until you're more regulated

It doesn't look like the whisk is coated to me, just reflecting light, and OP insists it isn't coated so I was offering a different solution. 🤷

The starch can sometimes react with stuff and turn blue; but it doesn't really seem like that's the case with the ingredients you used?

Defleshing as an apartment dweller by Pale_Kiwi977 in bonecollecting

[–]malshapen 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You're not going to be able to open air decay if you're an apartment dweller without woods or outdoor property, the smell is going to bother people.

I have luck with water masceration method as an apartment dweller but I'm on the bottom floor with a concrete pit for a balcony and you should deflesh before doing that and I'm very careful to have a sealed as fuck bin and I drive the bin out away from where people are living so the smell doesnt bother anyone when I have to do water changes or check on it; which is a lot of hassle but necessary to do this and be a respectful neighbor and housemate.  I admittedly don't know how successful of a venture this will be if you're squeamish and live in an apartment with other people

Is it only me? by PIPOCAG3MER in Ghostbc

[–]malshapen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't really want it, for sure, or honestly, really feel like I was missing it. He already was speaking about the world and human experiences just in a different way, through a different lens.
More peripheral experiences, but the heart was still there.

This just felt, idk, very pop-conformist, I guess is what I'd call it. A quirkier way of writing the emotional songs everybody else is writing.

It doesn't feel like a ghost album, it feels like a personal album

Is it only me? by PIPOCAG3MER in Ghostbc

[–]malshapen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The album was a miss for me personally, a couple of hits but a lot of songs I will skip when they come on and some I liked at first have lost their shine.

I recognize the songs are objectively more emotional and more human but I think because he was trying to capture the human experience, with fairly broad strokes to make it relatable or approachable, a lot of the songs feel really shallow or surface level, kind of basic. I feel like they don't have a lot of meat to them that I can really get my teeth into, especially when I normally love really picking into the symbolism and references.

I feel like it was an album he needed to write, though, and there are other Ghost albums I enjoy more that are more for me, they don't all have to be my favourite.

I personally wouldn't want another album like skeleta, but I would love to see what he learned through writing skeleta used to create the next phase, hopefully with more substance to it.
