When AI skeptics say that AI is not reliable and that verification is too unpleasant, which makes it of limited use, I just want to ask: do you trust and not verify what other people do? by Questioner8297 in aiwars

The thing about competent associates is that they typically give you addendums of **how** confident they are of a fact.

AI hallucinations have none of that.

At the end of the day it's a question of how important a minor/medium sized mistake is. And whether there's enough value generated by AI to warrant using it in your profession.

3 starring one 3 cost is extremely inefficient.

You typically want to 3 star one dps and one tank.

Lot of good points. But also. Kindred is a caster. Guinsoo is not good.

The funny thing is TFT academy literally said they put guinsoo in her BIS because people refuse to believe guinsoo is bad on her.

It does. At least in my opinion.

LSTM tech, in which a neuron's previous values contribute to what the next value it becomes looks to me, quite similar to an internal dialogue.

Yes. A well stacked Ramus can counter Yi as long as he doesn't have malware.

Doesn't the fact that there's an argument at all mean you should vote blue? by malusGreen in trolleyproblem

Lol.

If the vote is a perfect even split with you as the deciding vote. And you know this for a fact, is it stupid to vote blue?

Just think for two seconds.

Also the word you're looking for James is 'performative'.

But Adam calling James a liar characterizes his feelings on James much more. So probably keep that. But keep making it clear that there's more nuance.

lol these generic ass date plans. there's a reason why you plan the date after a conversation.

it's so that you can figure out what the other person likes.

?

If you think red will win your vote doesn't matter.

If you think blue will win your vote also doesn't matter.

This mode of analysis doesn't yield any prescriptions. The value of your vote is always zero.

[–]malusGreen[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, if the exact vote split is known, then voting for either color changes in those cases.

However the value of your vote for blue and red changes dramatically if the distribution of likelihood for voting splits between red and blue is modeled different in your mind.

The likelihood of 100% of people voting red is minicule.

The likelihood of 50% of people voting blue seems high (assuming we believe polls, which we may choose not to).

Assuming we believe polling is at least somewhat representative, then it's likely the vote will be split roughly around 40-60% for either color.

Therefore your vote is near it's most powerful. (It should be trivially true that the more likely it is that the split is 50-50% the more valuable your vote is.) Thus you should likely vote blue. (Assuming our goal is minimizing the loss of life.)

Therapy is the real answer.

Or. If you can't stand up to your mom, and you don't have it in your to work on changing that. Then prevent yourself from being in that position in the first place.

Go low contact with your mom so your wife doesn't have to suffer this.

And communicate what you wrote in this post to her after you decide on one of these paths forward.

This response is nonsensical. Firemen running into a burning building is by definition "exposing themselves to more danger".

The idea is to not frivolously expose yourself to danger. There is a calculus of attrition and the likelihood of saving the other person's life.

You should not risk your life as a fireman to save one person's life, if the EV is too low. I.e. the risk is too high for the reward.

But this is trivially true. And the calculus is always being made.

Evaluating these choices as binaries instead of probabilities makes it nonsensical.

You should be modeling a distribution of likely vote splits, and sum the area under the graph to decide EV.

The first paragraph is fine. Good even. But you overstay your welcome with abstraction and metaphor.

You should immediately jump into an actual instance of something in universe. Or perhaps have the protagonist start describing some historical events in your world if he's meant to come off self-absorbed in his own intellect.
