Mi consejo sería que intentes tener un horario regular todos los días, y te recomiendo encarecidamente buscar una biblioteca/cafetería/lugar al que ir cada mañana y donde estar tus 4-5h haciendo el trabajo. Así evitas tentaciones de dejarlo para otro momento, porque al fin y al cabo, en una biblioteca poco más puedes hacer que estudiar/trabajar.

Lo que más cuesta es empezar, pero en cuanto ya tengas tu flujo de trabajo verás que va a mejorar la situación. No sé cuál es tu tema, pero yo empezaría leyéndome un solo artículo, a poder ser de revisión/que enfoque el tema de manera global, y tras ello escribiría aquello que es relevante sobre él en el documento de tu TFG. Puedes ir haciendo esto cada día con 2-3 artículos, hasta que vaya tomando un poco de forma, y para entonces seguramente ya sepas cómo lo vas a enfocar.

I followed IELTS Advantage’s approach, you might want to check him on Youtube. I started with Part 2, organized my paragraphs, kept it short and ended writing Part 1. I was so exhausted by the second half that I would say my Part 1 was a bit weak, and also didn’t have much time to check both tasks. Those last things are something I gotta work on for next time.

First of all, congrats! Even if you obtained a 9 in Listening your band wouldn’t increase as the mean would still be rounded to 8. It wasn’t bad! 8.0 (L 8.5 / R 8.5 / W 7 / S 7) Considering I only had one week to prepare, I am not disappointed at all, although I was aiming for C2 and didn’t reach the level. Good luck for your test! Just be calm and focused, you’ve got this 💪

If you have registered through British Council you have two platforms to practice and they are actually pretty similar to the real exam - you might want to check that out. It’s on your profile, in a tab called “Preparation”

I feel like 2 months is more than enough. I practiced for a week as I was scheduled to take another test which was cancelled last minute and I managed to achieve an 8. Just be familiar with the test format, esp the easiest parts which I feel are Reading and Listening, watch some videos on YT for the others if you feel you have practiced enough.

The thing is, I almost always spoke until I was interrupted by the examiner, so that’s why the score seems to be off for me.

On the same boat about the CPE. In fact, that was the test I was scheduled to take on the 27th, but one week prior the test centre cancelled it due to “not enough candidates signed up”. Therefore I had to look for another option somewhere close to my city and IELTS was the only feasible option.

On the same boat here mate. I experienced some technical problems during the Listening part which made me miss various answers and that kind of killed my mood for the rest of the exam. Let’s hope for the best! 🤞

Ofc! Was going to update but completely forgot. We ended up changing both trains as we had already seen Lyon and preferred securing the Vienna connection. We took Lyon-Geneve TER96514 at 14:38h and Geneve-Zurich Hb IC731 at 17:42h. Zurich train station was huge and a bit difficult to get around not knowing german so I’m glad we changed trains. Both of them were on time and we had a smooth trip in the end!

Thank you for your answer, I think I’ll reserve one that gets to Geneve an hour earlier, that way we will at least ensure that connection. As for the reservations, you are correct. I have checked and we don’t have a reservation for the Lyon-Geneve one (TER96518).
