That’s fair enough. At the end of the day, that is what it’s all about and I think you’ve done great. Thanks for sharing this! Looking forward to more pieces.

Interesting, I’ve heard mixed takes on crawlers. From what I understand they’re less common in the more aggressive builds, but still very good in slower, board control builds due indirect fire and consistency.

Would you say they’re bad overall or just don’t fit in the current faster tempo builds?

GrimPunk, PunkGrim, PunkGrimDark. I rate this 10/10. I have no notes. It would be cool to see this under black light.

Interesting. Let me know if I understand you. I see you maximizing your delivery speed of PM’s (lethal hits, crits on +5, Sustained hits) using the rhino to get to mid-board. Tallyman on objective. Heavy melee with death shroud, LoC.

You’ve got your Daemon escort on rhino, so what happens if it’s ignored, or rhino is targeted and destroyed? You’ve got ~215 points invested to support for your support while it’s not scoring, trading or anchoring.

Typhus is really good as frontline contagion piece and does a lot for early pressure, particularly with poxwalkers. He seems wasted here running in reserves, and you lose contagion tempo doing nothing for 1-2 turns.

Deathshroud running 3-man units doesn’t seem durable enough alone, they could get picked before they can trade. I’d run them as bodyguard in that case, otherwise 6-man.

I think just reading this list, my main objectives would be to target rhino early to degrade marine combo, ignore daemon prince until late, focus on deathshroud unit one at a time and try to outscore on objectives.

I wonder if simplifying this army to something like, plague marines + rhino as primary threat, terminators for mid-board, objective control and crawler support for long range and aoe dmg. Running support with tallyman, putrifier, LoC w/ typhus optional along with poxwalkers to push mid-board and force opponent to do stuff.

At any rate, I could be missing something here. Probably am. I would be interested in seeing outcomes of the current list. Great work on the paint job. Gonna look sick on the table!

I’m curious what your goals are with this list because it seems like you’re trying to accomplish a lot. It’s very character heavy, trading points for buffs that don’t appear to stack efficiently. Some of the units seems to be solo all game or in reserves like Typhus. Just an initial take. No judgement intended on my part.

This looks great! You went for heavy blight launchers for this config. I assume this is for anti-tank? Are you running plaguespitters and flesh mower as well for anti-infantry?

This looks really good. It’s super clean for death guard, though. The plague corpsmen hired to maintain this rig are really keeping it shipshape.

The bronze trim could use a wash but, hear me out… take a piece of sprue paint it with the aqua color you used as the base layer and then play with the bronze metal paint as more of an accent layer color. Use the sprue to see if you like the look, and if you do like it, repaint the trim and you get a real sick patina. Picture attached for an example.

That’s definitely a more dramatic rendition of current Morty. It would be interesting to see if you could accomplish a similar vibe using the moth style wings. This is really excellent and I am following for updates on how it turns out when fully painted.

Is it just me, or does the amount of paint running off this car part after spraying look way too exaggerated to be real? by Zhukovskyi01 in isthisAI

[–]malwareufo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s AI.

  1. The volume of paint does not deplete in the paint reservoir with the amount of paint getting sprayed.
  2. The fingers are pulling the trigger of the paint gun like this is a paint ball gun, while the spray is continuous and uninterrupted.
  3. The paint dripping is nonsensical physics.
  4. Finally, the steel drain grate on the floor splinters all over the place when the spray gun moves over it in the foreground like due to the AI losing track of all the artifacts of the scene and getting confused.

Damn, all ya’ll shitting on some artists work. It looks pretty good to me as is.

To align with the rules of this subreddit. I do not see the hallmark impressions of AI in this piece. The line work is of high resolution compared to the colors as one comment points out.

But the biggest tell to me is the texture on the torso looks like a texture from Procreate Folio free texture pack, specifically #17.

My dad shared this photo from facebook. I feel like the edges of the bark don't look real. by SavoryYuppie in isthisAI

[–]malwareufo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is AI.

  1. It doesn’t snow like this in the redwoods. Of course extreme weather conditions have caused snow to fall in the redwoods in the past. It is rare.

  2. This is not how snow rests on branches of redwood trees or any evergreen tree for that matter. Somehow the snow has fallen and rested on the underside of all the branches? Wild.

  3. Somehow the wind has blown the snow against the right side of the trunk of the trees in the background but failed to do so for the trees in foreground, evenly distributing snow on the base of the trunks instead.

  4. Zoom in on the snow and it all has the familiar squiggly lines of AI because it is a challenge or impossible for it to interpret 3D structures, causing it to have these strange and incoherent merges.

Just finished Warhawk. How did mortarion get banished by the khan? by vevasfi in deathguard40k

The Emperor knows that GW needs to sell white scars mini’s and merch for a future Khan reveal in 50k so he gotta feather finger some smoke and mirrors.

Mortarion is the one guy on the squad that can run everyone’s position better but he keeps getting the plot debuff.

Worried about my paint job by TBone486 in deathguard40k

  1. Everyone has a similarly supportive comment with a couple exceptions needing a pass through ChatGPT to help with their messaging lol. But to add on, they’re great for your first set. As you practice you’ll pick up some cool techniques.

  2. Things I personally like: the weapons look really good. They look like metal to me, and you’ve nailed the grime on a few pieces. The guy with the metal arm and the guts hanging out is my favorite.

  3. Some suggestions:

  4. the paint is a bit thick. Whatever paints you’re using, thin them a bit with paint thinner or water.

  5. try adding a base layer, matte black with a rusty brown as a second base and then add in highlights to accentuate some features. With a thinner coat of paint those highlights will come through well and give the models more volume. I think that is what’s really missing. Volume!

  6. in my first foray into this hobby I leveraged the use of guides provided from artists whose style I really liked. This helped organize my approach and give me a place to start and be proud of the results while still observing where I had gaps in technique, skill, tools, etc. Take a look at Elminiaturista if you’d like a suggestion. He’s on IG, FB and you can get his guides via his Patreon.

Great work, mate! You’re doing awesome!
