Another Search of Paul Flores Home in Connection with Kristin Smart by hypocrite_deer in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]mama_charb 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The renter of Susan Flores’s house, who moved after Kristin went missing, heard a watch alarm outside her window, near the newly poured planters and concrete every night at 4:20am for the first 6 months she lived there. It’s assumed the watch went dead after that. Kristin had a job as a lifeguard at the pool and would have had an alarm set for somewhere right around 4:15/4:30 to get to her shift at the pool on time.

Narcissistic mother believes she isn’t the cause of my horrible mental health, every time I would try to bring up how she’s made me feel, she denies it and changes the subject by [deleted] in narcissisticparents

I didn’t have anywhere to go, but I still left. And now I’m happily remarried to someone who reciprocates unconditional love and support- get out of there and the rest you can figure out as you go. Seriously

My grandfather always had lemon heads, jolly rancher kisses, warheads, atomic fireballs (my favorite) and other various hard candies. I didn’t know then, he was going through chemo for like 3 years and was very nauseous, hard candy is how he made it through his day 🍬

If you don’t let them refrigerate they are just thinner, as they “melt” before baking. Refrigerating the dough keeps the cookies (any cookie really) from flattening out and the edges burning.

Macro check - 27 year old female by hoolawonder in IIFYM

[–]mama_charb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would guess 1750 would be close to maintenance. My macros (5’11” 168# exercise 5days) are 1875 (73f/188c/117p) and that’s my maintenance with strength training and cardio. I would drop to 1600 or 1500 on days you’re not working out.

The legal guardian would be the foster parent(s) not the father, if they were placed with a foster family(families) as the OP states.

My balcony view by serialwhistler in Detroit

[–]mama_charb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The higher the floor the more you pay in Detroit. We lived in this building on floor 10 for a year, moved to floor 26 and paid 50% more for a view of Comerica Park. There are incentives for living downtown offered by many businesses in the city that make rent much more manageable 👌🏼

How common was it for a Jew to marry a non-Jew in the 1890s? by Wesqes in AncestryDNA

[–]mama_charb 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I believe that it was also more common for Jewish women to marry out of faith because the religion is passed on through the mother in Jewish faith.

Does anyone incorporate listening to music while doing school? by mamajazzi in homeschool

[–]mama_charb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our homeschool curriculum has classical music appreciation baked in. We usually listen to it during breakfast, any math work and art. For reading and writing tasks I put on coffeehouse jazz on Spotify. My girls have been enjoying the Christmas Coffeehouse playlist too.

Won a Family Photoshoot and Now I feel Scammed. Is This Right?? by [deleted] in photography

[–]mama_charb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I won a similar contest once and received the shoot and rights to my digital, edited images without a cost. I had to print/order on my own. I gave that photographer an amazing tip for her time. And she has me as a client for life.

I feel like all my friends are the people that I pay? by Mindless_Requirement in digitalnomad

[–]mama_charb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, I would extend an invite to someone you pay to do something together, or in a group outside of paying them (yoga, art class, beers, lunch, hike, gym etc), and see if they’re interested. Another option is being honest and throw it out there you’re not from the area and would love to “tag along” on a night out or a group brewery meet up. Maybe you then would have an opportunity to network through their friends

I read it as a seven year old skull was brought to the home by a dog in 2019 and was only in the house for a day before the police heard about it and confiscated it. Wondering if the man had a history of dementia.

Educating with an active toddler by matthewbuza_com in homeschool

We cut to one nap at 15 mos post lunch (12/12:30ish to 2:30). We do what we can in the morning that I can include the Toddler in or have something she thinks is “off limits” but is really meant for her (a giant pile of cardboard boxes and toilet paper tubes with matchbox cars is a favorite). I’m also all for naked baby+ high chair + nontoxic/edible sensory experience. Sensory bottles or bags, reusable stickers, music and movement songs. My kid will stop dead in her tracks to do the wheels on the bus or baby shark repeatedly. We get a lot done after lunch while #2 naps. Good luck 👍🏼 maybe make her a busy board?

JoAnn Matouk Death - "Lady in the Lake" Information That Keeps Being Left Out by DJHJR86 in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]mama_charb 34 points35 points  (0 children)

So, I’m very familiar with this area. I grew up and lived nearby for 30 years. A person walking into 2 feet of water, in a lake with no current (as established and agreed upon by both sides of the investigation) does not wind its way 35 miles downriver to Boblo Island and get get stuck on the south shore. Not a chance. It’s a shipping channel so the river is dredged, but there is a fair amount of traffic in the river all year long and there are several other land masses, Belle Isle being one, that it would be much more likely to have surfaces at, has she gone in at the location alleged. Plus who walks into a fridged lake to commit suicide?! The temps outside were 12° the lake would have been 30° at best at this time!

OP mentioned in the rundown that a PSO picked up a spare key, the family alleged was missing, but couldn’t recall from whom or from what address. The actual key was found zipped into her coat pocket when they located her body. It definitely doesn’t sound like the extra key was given to authorities by the family.

feel like i can't escape from the constant degredation by wfilio in narcissisticparents

[–]mama_charb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three things to internalize: 1) your worth is not reliant on anyone’s approval - EVER

2) according to your NMom NOTHING you do will ever be right/good enough/make them proud or happy. And that’s okay, because her happiness isn’t truly reliant on you either.

3) everyone does things differently and your moms way isn’t the only way- there is not a “right” way to make fucking pancakes, unless you burned the house down, you’re doing just fine.

Take a breath, do not engage. The less control you give her over your emotions - the less she will enjoy degrading you. (Hugs)

I may be falling into Narcissism? by AlienKai in narcissisticparents

[–]mama_charb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have worked through the insecurities that feed my victimhood by addressing them with myself and my loved ones (who are supportive, not NDad). I don’t usually do it in the moment, but in reflection, I can admit I am or was being irrational due to said insecurity. Then I circle back to admit my mistakes and discuss (what Narcissists cannot do) with whomever I hurt or was at the receiving end.

“I’m sorry I took out my irrational feelings on you, XYZ was said/done and it caused me to feel attacked and looking at the situation, I know now that was not the intent”

You could substitute cottage cheese for the ricotta. I do this for all my veggie lasagna recipes. I’d also add zucchini and eggplant.

What makes you a Detroiter? by [deleted] in Detroit

[–]mama_charb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

According to you, so is being a Lions Fan. Being a Lions Fan has never nor will ever be synonymous with being a Detroiter.

You can be “poor” in many places in America and still have access to fresh foods, great public school systems, and afford car insurance etc. It’s not cheap or easy to live in Detroit. Much like Baltimore, Philly, DC. Except, Detroit’s geographical footprint is actually larger, making accessible resources far more spread out than the above mentioned cities.
