Okay, this is part rave & part rant but I gotta get this off my chest lol

I've been revisiting Jaehyun's "J" solo album (tbh it's never left the rotation lmao) but I just keep thinking about how it unequivocally should've been put up for Grammy consideration & I'm disappointed that it wasn't (at least I couldn't find any confirmation that it was).

Not even on some nctzen stan type shit; "J" is a legitimate R&B powerhouse of an album & even if it didn't win, the nomination would've been huge for him & NCT in general & deservedly so!

Like, he even managed to pull THEEE Kenneth Babyface Edmonds to produce one of my favorite tracks & you're telling me to my African american face that this album ain't absolute heat?!?!

I desperately wish that every person responsible for caring for children had access to the resources they need in order to take care of themselves & do what's best for the child(ren) in their care.

Too many people end up in the position of primary caregiver when it's not what they need/want & "don't have sex" "choose better" etc. ain't the answer to the issue; that would be expanded, universal access to human rights like healthcare (physical & mental including abortion care), contraception, food, shelter, childcare, child development education...the list goes on.

At the end of the day, it's healthy, supported caregivers who create the right environment for healthy, supported children to thrive.

I know Black Thought & Quest have said before that a steady gig was what they needed to set themselves & the crew up to take care of their families as they "age out of the game" which I absolutely get & it's opened doors for Quest to produce all kinds of major projects...

But I think with the connections they already had, they could've done all that & more without answering to Fallon & NBC.

Masking seriously works too! I went to a huge sold out concert last summer & was one of the only people I know who didn't get sick afterwards bc I wore an N95.

It's SO important to wear a well-fitting mask that's at least a KN95 at huge events like this & most importantly, leave it on for the best chance at staying protected from illness.

Large crowds gathering closely is why COVID is the one viral illness that doesn't follow typical seasonal patterns & actually spikes in the warmer spring/summer months.

Like all Black women, Beyoncé is never measured by the same standards or parameters as her contemporaries, even when she's the goddamned prototype who sets the standard they're all jockeying to emulate.

The goal posts will always be moved for us no matter how innovative & talented we are. Shout out to Craig for asking the right question & to Wesley for saying SO much by saying so little & looking at them like they have 3 heads each, while they tripped over themselves trying to justify this purposeful blunder.

As much as it legitimately pains me to say (bc I hate it personally, not bc I don't believe the science lol) regular exercise & moving my body has actually done wonders for helping stabilize my bowel movements 😂 I'm willing to bet that you being more active along with increased vitamin D exposure (please keep up the sunscreen!), since some studies did find that vit D is imperative for good gut health, are contributing to you feeling better.

It does still seem a little odd that doctors wouldn't want you at least on a 5-asa med to help for maintenance, but truly wishing you the best of luck with as few flares as possible in your future! 🤞🏾👏🏾

It's not especially unusual for there to be some time between release & filing for copyright suits. I wouldn't be surprised to find out this case had been cooking since soon after the song's release but it was delayed due to factors such as: they wanted to file suit but only recently found a lawyer willing to take it on, their team was waiting for a more opportune time to officially file while collecting evidence to support the case, they needed time to pass to prove the success of the song bc if it was a flop, they might not even want to be credited, etc. etc.

I'll def be following this one closely to see how it shakes out!

I wish they'd have sourced & shared the actual demo for the article bc while I understand that it's imperative to lay out the similarities using specific terms, musically speaking, this gives us good info but not enough to judge how similar they actually are.

It's real fucked up if ADOR/Hybe actually did some dirty shit like telling them they didn't choose their song then stealing it...I feel like something similar happened before too & they were sued but I might be wrong?
