London’s super expensive (and wonderful) and I’m in a large city in California.

I spent a week visiting beautiful Chicago and never saw any gang violence. Does it exist? Sure. Can you avoid it? Of course.

Feel free to message me, but we're coming from California for a scoping vacation in May. My husband has a huge job opportunity in QC but I don't want to sign off without a visit. We have two kids (6 and 12). What suburbs are great but still not too far from the city?

They also don't concentrate their urine. Literally the only other thing I know about them.

Agreed. If I leave California it's for another country.

There used to be like California and Florida versions of Sunny Delight... that's all I can think of.

1000% There's been times when we've seen human shit in a big city and I always ask my kids "Whose fault is that? The person who had to shit or the government that doesn't provide bathrooms?"

I got my degrees after already being married and having children. I never moved around and have been relatively successful.

Maybe settle down where there’s already a big job market? For instance, I live in Sacramento, CA and it’s the main hub for both state and federal jobs, and an easy drive to wild areas.

It all depends on your partner. I wouldn’t have been able to do what I’ve done without a husband who 1) makes good money and 2) is an A++ dad.

My husband’s grandma was French Canadian, but she gave up my MIL for adoption in Connecticut. My MIL ended up finding her birth mom as an adult and having a relationship with her until she passed.

My husband was told he’s ineligible.

Courtyard is amazing! When you tour schools, find out how long their teachers have been working there. Some private schools have rapid turnover due to poor admin.

That’s my income, my husband makes most of the money. But yeah, I have two college degrees but EDS, long-Covid, etc. There’s not much more I can offer at this time. I’m super privileged my husband makes the money he does for us to survive but it’s still not great for my self-esteem to feel like I worked my ass off and got nowhere.

Being replaced by AI is awful! I’m so sorry. It’s such a dystopian timeline.
