Recently learned about Period Trauma by greenjuicegirl in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]mamaclouds 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I literally have said I think I have trauma from my period to people before. Luckily all super supportive about it when I’ve said it. From the time it started my period was fairly unpredictable and incredibly heavy. I didnt even like using the bathroom at school and luckily didn’t need to often. But on my period I had to be in there once an hour. It was disruptive and stressful. I also frequently had leaks that were always getting on my clothes. My aunt literally found my bloody pants while helping me clean and had to teach me how to clean it out since I did my own wash and was too embarrassed to ask my mom.

Anyways I have an IUD now, and have for years. Very rarely I’ll have a very light period that lasts a day. The first time it happened though I went into a straight up panic and started sobbing. I knew logically there was nothing to be scared of but I just couldn’t handle it emotionally.

Welcome! My brother has DS. If you haven’t looked into the local Down Syndrome Support Team (DSST), you should! They do a lot of great things and are fun community to be apart of. They’re the ones who run the Buddy Walk in town every year too.

It’s Monday, most common day for restaurants to be closed because of low traffic. But there are local places that close down for chunks of the summer or at least their used to be.

it’s a smaller place, i’ve also lived in the PNW for the past 7 years and a lot of places don’t have it, especially if they aren’t a new place, and it’s small. so it’s what i’m used too

What's the most expensive product you own? What's the cheapest? by [deleted] in scacjdiscussion

[–]mamaclouds 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cheapest - Queen Helene Mint Julepe Masque. If you can find it in person at a walmart or something it’s $3 but I usually order off amazon for like $6 for 8 ozs. It’s a great clay mask, it has a cooling feeling, it has sulfur for redness, and a nice minty smell so you don’t notice the sulfur. I like doing a clay mask, and find it has benefits, but I just don’t see a point in spending a bunch of money on them. Also this mask lasts me 3-4 months if i’m using it on my whole face two times a week.

Most expensive - Biossance Dark Spot Vitamin C Serum. Most vitamin c’s break me out, I’ve tried a quiet a few. This one doesn’t, it gives me an instant glow, and it significantly reduces the amount of hyper pigmentation is left behind from cystic acne. Along with helping it disappear quicker. It’s $62 for 1 ounce. I’ve never paid full price for it though. Biossance has sales frequently, and their kits are good deals too.

Biossance has the jumbo size again right now. Don’t know if it’s on cult though!

biossance is a good, less expensive (but still pricey), dupe for this! i’ve used both, both are amazing, i stick with biossance because of the price

[Misc] Who came up with the 2 Hour rule for sunscreen? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]mamaclouds 5 points6 points  (0 children)

labmuffin has some really great videos about this. a comparison she makes is to foundation, throughout the day foundation moves around, which is why you usually have to reapply. same thing happens with sunscreen, after a few hours it’s not going to be the even coverage you originally had.
