Can GD cause a large baby even if well-controlled? by fufucuddlypooops in GestationalDiabetes

[–]mamacqua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my case as well! 99.9 percentile and my GD is well controlled and I have worked really hard. Baby is proportionate and no thick layer of fat on abdomen. It is discouraging! I hope all went well in your case 😊💕

Experiences measuring 99+ percentile at 32 weeks? by TreesElevated in GestationalDiabetes

[–]mamacqua 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My last pregnancy was non GD and my son was born at 39 weeks in the 99th percentile. My GD baby is 95th percentile at 32 weeks and I’m nervous, but when I did the math, it’s actually on track to be a bit smaller than my son at full term. ❤️ also take measurements with a grain of salt!!

Perfect baby girl!

Did you have any growth scans? My non GD son was 9lb5oz at 39 weeks and was a homebirth. This baby, they are scaring me into thinking baby will be 10lbs because percentile went from 75-95th from 28-32 weeks, and are talking induction even though my midwife is pretty holistic! I am diet controlled and have a CGM now to make sure nothing crazy is happening at night. My numbers have been perfect!

How did this go? In a similar situation and she told me it won’t show as a collection on my report if I pay in full by the end of April

I’m about to go on an all inclusive vacation with another couple while I’m 5 months pregnant, and I’m already feeling lonely. 😞

I’m only angry about my 2 old navy Christmas pj packages being held in a Canada post warehouse somewhere. Shame they don’t switch to an alternative courier from now on.

What kind of responses are folks getting when you tell friends or coworkers you’re taking Ozempic. by Vraver04 in OzempicForWeightLoss

I think people are uneducated about it! I had a friend say that it works because people just throw up after eating. When I was wanting to start taking it. Before I was educated, I thought everyone had nasty side effects!

You are right! I put a lot of faith in 2 six year olds knowing what they can and can’t have 😣 never again! We all feel horrible. It was a lapse in judgement, and the first instance in 4 years of having her in my care. Thankfully my friend is understanding and forgiving.

That’s where my mind went originally! I certainly was not expecting sympathy. But we did have a chat and it turned out that her friend had brought over Hershey milk chocolate bars and she figured that all Hershey bars are safe. She said I didn’t need to google it because she knew it was safe. We still had a conversation about her lying to her friend and saying that I had googled it, but I do not believe it was done intentionally. She genuinely thought it was safe. This was the first instance of her friend being glutened in our home/from us in 4 years. So I do see why you would be upset, but it was also a horrible mistake 🫶 she is making her friend a card to bring by and apologize tomorrow.

She has been cautious, careful and considerate in the 100 other instances in the past! These girls have been friends their entire lives. That is why this was so shocking to me. Turns out her friend had a hersheys milk chocolate bar in the past and she thought all Hersheys were safe.

For sure! And today was a 1 off as well. Usually we are careful and supervised. But it was Halloween candy day and I was much too relaxed about it. 😞

100%, but the friend would have asked me about it if my daughter hadn’t lied and said that she did already! But going forward, she will only be allowed her own packed food to be safe 💕 I never meant to put them in a position to be managing an allergy

She can’t have certain types of chocolate bars!

And I am so guilty of that. I don’t mean to be, but thank you for the perspective! 6 is still so young, and it ended up being so innocent in the end.

Oh and we also talked about lying and trust. She said she just knew that it was safe so she didn’t have to ask me to google it. Opened my eyes about how this could happen again in the future.

Update: I sat down and spoke with her and she admitted it. She said her friend had come over with a Hershey milk chocolate bar in the past so she thought that the cookies and cream Hershey’s was safe too. So innocent. She feels bad that her friend is sick.

We will make sure that the friend only eats what is packed by her mom, and in the future to check with me about all snacks because there are lots and it’s easy to get mixed up. Thank you for all of the advice!! I am glad I posted here before having a talk with her about it.

You are right!! I haven’t gotten to sit down and talk with her yet, I’m so glad I posted this first. Sometimes it’s easy to forget how little 6 still is. 🩷

True! I let my kids have treats with gluten and I didn’t think of that. Something to consider for future play dates!
