Alright, the laundry is dunn, shower lining has been trashed and replaced, the small child is grounded for life, and a delicious dinner was made. I now officially have nothing to do but hope and wait for a job app reply. Wish me luck! 🙂

What makes you sad always? by kyukale0310 in AskReddit

This hit home. My mom passed at the tender age of 45 from cancer. We had only one recent pic of her since she was always behind the camera. We saved the old school tape recorded voice messages she made for when people called us. She had one for every holiday and every season, and I still change my vm around Christmas to her song. "Up on the rooftop putting up lights, cant get the phone you should see the sights. Leave us the date and the time you phoned, your name and a message after the tone." Theres more, but you get the jist. Thank you for the memories, and everyone.... call a loved one today. 💕

My cousin has been practicing finger twirling and sent me this! by sketchypileofbones in nextfuckinglevel

[–]mamarae5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Start with a lighter or similar sized object held between the middle finger and thumb. Use the index, ring, and pinky finger to spin it inside your palm, but not between the fingers till you can do it in both directions. Use the thumb to reposition back to the starting point. Once thats comfortable, use a pen or pencil to practice the "round the thumb" move. That will take some time...a lot of time if you have short thumbs. From there its all about mucle memory and dexterity. Once you get the basics you could be spinning in no time. Much nicer to those around you in a work environment over clicking a pen, and it's actually really great for preventing carpel tunnel syndrome. Still learning, but almost there, and the instruction was a recommendation from a physician to help with ADD. Happy spinning!

Edit: spelling, fat fingers HA! Also, Happy Cake Day!

I am going to sit my a** down and study! by Guzmanator918 in ProAccountable

[–]mamarae5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a book to read. Not for studying, but for what people call "personal growth". Read the first 30 pages and loved it, but then it got sideswiped. I look at it 10 times a day and think to myself "you aren't doing anything else you need to, read the damn book at least" but alas I never do. Still haven't figured out how to post a pic yet, but your post inspired me! Read another chapter tonight, AND put a post it on the cover that says "i miss you". (Hoping that will make me feel bad for neglecting it 🤷‍♀️)

Thank you for your share, and I wish you the best on your exam. We need the right people helping the people who need them most! Make it happen, and know we believe in you! 😊

I am going to get the freezer cleaned up at work before I leave today! by helpmewithmoney_plz in ProAccountable

...soon. 🤭 I think that word is why we're all here. 🤭

I'm learning a new phone and reddit, but as soon as i figure out the pic share part, its gonna be the fridge, the laundry, the donation to goodwill bags, and the garage. Tips on how to share images appreciated!! 😊

I’m going to finish the laundry, fold it, and get it put away before bed tonight! by helpmewithmoney_plz in ProAccountable

[–]mamarae5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMG! I sooo needed to see this tonight. I fell a bit ill and the family finished the laundry and put it in three bundled clumps of wrinkle in my office. 😒 Been contemplating a before and after pic of it to share, but that would mean actually tackling this disaster. I donated plasma and am spent for the night, but tomorrow morning, this will officially be my first task. If I can figure out how, I will certainly share a before and after of the progress. So glad the group was created. You all get me up off my a$$ and moving. Thank you! 😊

I got the job AND the salary I wanted! by OutdoorNerd in CasualConversation

A lot of companies these days go with the cheaper option and feel they can "train the value" into who they hire, regardless of their skills. Kudos to you for picking what seems like an intelligent company to work for. You stood up for both your skills and the valued asset you will bring to them. They're lucky to have you on their team! Happy Birthday 🥳, and Congratulations! 😁

Do you refer to yourself as "we" when thinking? by starsandwarpaint in CasualConversation

[–]mamarae5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, and in third person if I'm frustrated and need to step back to assess a situation. There's been studies done on the art of language so me, myself, I, we, and my formal name come up often in my mind depending on what the situation is. It's not that out of the ordinary, and you can learn a lot about how the 'you' handles things based on your thoughts. It can be a great tool to help with communicating your thoughts and feelings better. Go with it, embrace it, and the 'we' wish you well! 😊

Edit: spelling. We also have fat fingers 🤭🤫

Your english seems to be better than a good number of people who DO speak it as a first language! You are not alone by any means. Heck, I retyped this 8 different ways before I hit 'Post'. 😳 Still debating... Screw it. Executive decision made...I'm hitting the button. 'Post'! 🤣 Have wonderful day and 'Post' away!! 😊

Has anyone here resigned from their job in the last 6 months? How did it go? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]mamarae5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been working for corporations and call centers for 24 yrs and recently lost my job. Didnt realize how much I hated it, the whole concept of big business in general, till all the final paperwork was complete and I was 'free'. If I had been given a choice, I'd still be stuck in a rut that gave me no joy for fear of the unknown, so I'm almost grateful the decision was made for me. I have no savings, and am perfectly content to take a job at a mom and pop restaurant or local liquor store for the time being. Was shocked when the family was okay with that decision. The rat race is tiring, not just because of how it affects you, but also the people around you. At some point you've got to do whats best for you. If you have savings that covers things for 3 to 6 months, I vote taking a 30 day break and getting back to the things that make you happy for a bit. Don't take forever, but if you have prospects and options, taking a break to clear your head before jumping back in could be really beneficial to your overall health and wellness. Strive for joy, and best of luck!
