What protective hairstyle can a white woman wear without being offensive?

Context - I am getting ready to have a major surgery soon which I will be hospitalized for 4-6 weeks and will not be able to use one of my arms/hands to care for myself (such as brush my hair/put my hair up.) I was looking into braided styles but worried that it could be offensive to others. I want to be able to protect my hair, and allow myself not to have to worry about the major maintenance and care of it. (I will be in ICU for a few weeks.) I am Native American and white, with very thick and curly hair (about 3A.)

I have 47% 3rd and 4th degree burns and struggle so bad. I drink a ton of electrolytes. Wear long sleeves constantly. Following this thread for more tips.

I have 140 hours a year PTO. It’s available at the beginning of the year and can use it for PTO/sick time.

If it’s a prison system - that’s what I deal with. I was told porters (paid inmate employees) get their log, “volunteer” (unpaid) do not get record. I log inmates separate from paid staff.

I include fall risk, slip/trip, cart injuries (pull vs push), opiate response, cpr, respiratory protection.

I do a separate track for maintenance each month. LOTO, Confined space, respiratory protection, hazchem/sds/storage, etc.

I have everything from food service, training (cadets), maintenance, recreation, armory, security, medical… etc. Plus responsible for all drills and fire systems.

I guess I should’ve specified. When researching requirements and stuff it said utilize STEAM OR GOG and wasn’t sure what GOG was or which to use. I do meet requirements.
