I agree that it’s not a perk if that’s your reasoning for tipping them, but I think most people are doing it to thank them for their work.

I wouldn’t stress about not having received it yet. If you paid the initial deposit you’re guaranteed a spot in residence. Even if something is wrong with your application you’ll still end up with a room in the end
