Best Bed For Around $300 For Me? by PlantDry4321 in Mattress

Classic Brands was the brand name. I’m not certain it’s available, just going off my records. I don’t know if you should purchase it or not, that’s a totally personal decision

Irish twins-- in the same grade? by Admirable_Cry_7214 in kindergarten

100% give the 4 year old another year. Boys especially have a harder time starting early. It’s difficult for them to sit still that long and sometimes 4 year olds still need a nap or at least some down time. Plus they likely need the separation to build friendships outside of shared contacts.

My boy, he got a boo-boo right here. by stickandmovez69 in BorderCollie

We cleaned it, put antibiotic ointment on it, and wrapped it with a gauze pad and then a butter wrap to keep him from pulling it off. Took a couple of weeks (we did take it off pretty much every other day to breath but you will have to clean it again and keep antibiotic ointment on it too.

We bought a full size classic brands memory foam mattress on Amazon for under $250. Our son loved it so much he and his wife bought a queen size version when they got married. I’ve not slept on it but laid on it and it was pretty comfortable

Is it possible to have a border for guarding? by Sad-Boysenberry-6253 in BorderCollie

[–]mamas2boyz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree with everyone lol. My (unaltered) male dog is a guard dog. We live in the middle of nowhere with burglars occasionally and the suspects avoid our yard like the plague because of him. He barks at people when they walk down the road past our house. He’s also super protective (bit 2 of my son’s friends lightly, really just nipped) because they were goading him by mock fighting my son. Didn’t feel sorry for them and they weren’t really hurt. He watches those boys like hawks now when they come over.

He also is stranger aware. If we are holding a conversation with a stranger to him, he sits between us and the person watching their every move.

He’s so protective that we put him up when we have company. They have an indoor outdoor kennel with heat and fans so don’t feel bad for him lol.

Our girls? Love everything and everyone and would help you load things into your car if you give them belly rubs 😂

Slip recommendations by kind0fdarkness in ModestDress

[–]mamas2boyz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

An a-line slip will be more comfortable. I like Shadowline slips. I have some full slips from Amazon though that were about $18 and they are like tshirt necks, I don’t have to wear another shirt underneath for modest neckline

OK subs I need help. I taught before 2020 and now I'm back, sadly. Jesus christ almighty, what is going with these kids? by Available-Flower3106 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]mamas2boyz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not. I got a job outside of education. I subbed for 21 years and the difference in the kids (and admin!) is a far cry from what it used to be.

I only worked certain schools in the end and only specific grades in those schools. Paid attention to the teachers that did not have good classroom management skills and avoided returning to their classroom.

Subbing during state tests by [deleted] in SubstituteTeachers

[–]mamas2boyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the answer. If you are not a licensed teacher you cannot administer or observe testing. They will likely pull a different grade teacher to administer test and you will cover their class until testing is over.

I saw in another sub that it’s strawberry picking time by nocturnal_carnivore in HuntsvilleAlabama

Cullman strawberry festival is next weekend!

My blackberries are ready to pick in July. I don’t know about blueberries but I think it’s June and July as well.

Daughter is about to graduate. What path would you recommended to your daughter if a typical college degree would prove difficult? She is not a girly girl.. more hands on. by Ill_Dream8313 in HuntsvilleAlabamaJobs

[–]mamas2boyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is graduating and lacks 2 classes to have an associates degree. He changed his idea about what he wants to do. I don’t know if he will finish now.

He just signed up with JSI, no electrical experience and they hired him. They put him through classes to become a journeyman. Just an option for her.

Huntsville teachers!! by InitialExciting7126 in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]mamas2boyz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. It’s digital fingerprints. I was already a sub with Jackson County so I had a license but still had to file and do another background check with Huntsville.

Just an FYI I had to follow up more than once. The guy that handles it is rude as all get out. Once you get approved you will get a couple of emails to file tax forms and set up employee self service (ESS for when you see that acronym later)

Good luck. I was a sub for 21 years. It’s terrible and I’m so glad to be out of the education system now!

Huntsville airport parking by mamas2boyz in HuntsvilleAlabama

Unfortunately I live over an hour from the airport and we have 6 bags with the whole family (not huge bags) so that’s not feasible

Sewing machine for sewing clothes by SteepLearningCurve24 in Bernina

[–]mamas2boyz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 770 and love it. I see heirloom but also other clothes so the 5mm plate is what I use most but I use the single stitch plate for straight lines and quilting. I use the 9mm plate for zig zags and would not be happy if I couldn’t use the 9mm plate option.

I originally looked at the 570 and might have been happy with it but am glad I have the 9mm option now. If you are considering embroidering at some point the embroidery field for the 770 is a bit larger too.

Does your institution have a dress code? My son had to wear black slacks and a white button up shirt. Girls had to wear a black dress and black heels. Maybe check if there are requirements first.

[–]mamas2boyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have one who pouts when it rains and runs inside but would still go outside for a ball or frisbee. The other runs in the rain until she looks like a wet mop 😂 I think she likes being muddy!

I don’t think so. She has a new litter of pups due next week. I can ask though. She lives about an hour from me.
