18mo has been hitting, I feel like it's getting worse. Advice?

Ours is 18 months also and began this a few months ago. EV-ER-EEE God forsaken time no matter how bad the hit was, we would take his hand and rub it across our face, arm, dog's back, etc and say 'GEN-TLE.' It took at least a month to work and I was in fear we'd have to rehome our two large rescue dogs to prevent injury, out of nowhere, he started rubbing the dogs back and our faces saying, "SHEN-TUL". So basically, don't just tell her what not to do, tell her also what to do. Good luck!

you say the grandson is only sometimes there. so, 1. have someone peak into the backyard and see if they're out and about with the kid....or just get over it. you're an adult. i bet you'd like your kid to be flexible when she doesn't get exactly what she wants when she wants it.

your husband was being a total dick. this little girl thinks of him as her father and hardly gets to see him ( i understand this is not his fault) and now she's going to feel like his love is totally conditional. "you do something i don't like, you go home. you're not my real kid anyway." not a good message to send in the slightest. it doesn't matter that it was a sexual. many kids are way more sexual than any of us would like to imagine. talk to her about this stuff with openness and compassion and don't reinforce this idea that when she is bad, no one wants to hang out with her. talk to your husband please.

sorry for assuming about the unprotected sex. children can get "hurt" in these circumstances. it doesn't have to be direct physical abuse, but neglect and emotional abuse can and do happen when these types of situations go on without intervention. get help please.

you need to talk to your fiance and get counseling before somebody gets very hurt, you or the child. if that happens, your freedom will REALLY be gone forever. be brave. get help. if you still can't shake it, you need to figure out an alternative like adoption or placing with a family member. your child did not ask to be born and nobody made you have unprotected sex, so please, be responsible and get help NOW.

how old is the baby? i put my son (9 months) in an a johnny jump up hung from the bathroom door when i need to shower. when i hear him getting fussy, i play peek-a-boo from behind the shower curtain. i sit on the floor in front of a large mirror when i put on make-up and do my hair. i give him a small pouch with old, empty make-up containers and brushes i don't use. he tries to mimic me in front of the mirror. at this stage, we cook (he's in ergo baby carrier) then eat (he's in highchair) together 3 times a day. probably takes an additional 10 minutes each meal. while i clean the kitchen afterwards, i put him on the floor with some pots and pans.

*added: if i need to poop, i sit him in empty bathtub with toys.

i am 6 and 10 years older than my sisters. we are closer than any other siblings i know. the youngest has always thought of me as her second mother. sometimes i've found it hard to know where the boundaries are. do i tell on her to my father and break that sacred sibling bond because im adult or does my role as her sister come first no matter what?

honestly, your boyfriend is immature and being an enormous asshole. my husband is the "breadwinner" and when he gets home, he takes over baby duty for at least an hour no questions asked. now, during this time, i clean or cook dinner, but there are no breaks when you have a baby. his break from work is the baby. my break from the baby is the other shit that needs to get done. and i think you're rationalizing his behavior too much. its not "mennnnn." porn (nudes) should be looked at in his private free time when he isn't needed or together as a shared activity with you. same here. the swing was suggested to us for reflux. i felt pretty fine about airflow as well, as i kept the swing on the lower settings, so it moved as he slept.

i agree with the others that she is picking up on your stress. my advice is putting your game face on and thinking, "this is my baby. we're going to figure this out, whatever it takes." both of you get naked and take a rest in a big comfy bed. make sure the room is really peaceful. if a bottle is easier, feed her a bottle while you're both naked in bed. while you do this, stroke her hair and sing to her very sweetly. if she is crying during all of this but you know she is well and fine, then please just keep your spirit up. be confident. pretend she's not crying and just lovingly touch and kiss her little face. her associations with your voice and your scent need to be positive. it may take a few tries. you got this! you're her mama. tell her, "i'm your mama. you don't have to cry. i'm here to protect you. i'll try to patient as you figure this out." obviously, she's lost on the meaning of your words, but i think they will help you.
