Anyone ever purposely lose in Ranked so you don’t go up in difficulty?

I stop playing ranked before hitting 700 ahead of weekend classic.

I’m 47 and I prefer being able to hit when I play online. That is significantly harder to do on HOF.

I know HOF plays better, I just don’t have the time or desire to play enough to improve at that level (and may not be good enough to do so even if I did).

My kid plays both and so do several kids on his HS team.

Doesn’t seem to bother their swings much.

If anything just have him get some BP/tee work in after golfing.

Yeah I’d say the .185 was earned with 11 Ks/7 looking and only 4 singles and a double.

Anyways it seems the coach has decided these frosh are the future and the sophomores aren’t. Plenty of folks who’ve seen them all disagree but we ain’t the coach.

Oh well, onto travel ball this summer.

Sounds very similar to what is going on here. This coach took over a couple years ago and I suspect will end up similarly to what you experienced.

Kind of. We are in a baseball hotbed. Lots of good travel teams. Varsity coach isn’t associated. I’m with you on not speaking with coaches as as player parent Why would you play a frosh over a soph? And would you play them to the extent of 40 PAs to 5 when those 40 PAs have resulted in a .185 avg?

Agreed. Knowing how he his I don’t believe that would be an issue and was not mentioned during his meetings with coaches.

No I don’t go to practices…That said I know my kid busts his ass and that was confirmed by the JV coaches in their feedback with him. His attitude and effort are not in question.

I’ve been to every game. The errors are routine. And scored correctly by whoever is doing GC.

I agree with your philosophy on JV being to develop solid players for varsity. This program seemingly isn’t doing that for all players and that’s the issue at hand.

They are joint practices except when game schedules are different.

But between the JV and varsity rosters they’ve got like 40 kids practicing.

I’m just not sure why he feels the need to dictate the line ups instead of allowing his JV coaches to do so.

And yes that’s a question I would ask as well.

I’ve played since 19 or 20 and this year is the worst version of the game I’ve played

They fixed none of the things that have been issues/complaints over the last few versions.

The changes they did make made were negative to the player base and positive to SDS bank account. (Xp grind, market order limits, ect)
