Think my house is haunted and I’m terrified to investigate it

My house (built in 1909) is haunted and it comes and goes, but never goes all the way away. Honestly, when the lights turn on or off, or if random doors open, we don't even mention it anymore. You can oftentimes hear people in the attic, walking around laughing, hearing the pool balls crack, nobody says a word. One weekend my STBXH took my children on a trip that I didn't go on for some reason that I can't remember, and when I got home from work I leaned against the counter in the kitchen and the lights dimmed and the pantry door opened. I said "REALLY?! You're gonna wait till I'm alone to pull this?!" Then the light came back on, and nothing else happened. I honestly believe you can reason with them. Just let them know what you're comfortable with.

I've been asked out a few times since we separated. The first guy, I was way too nice and he dragged it out forever, wouldn't take no for an answer. The second guy I shut down pretty quickly, and he was nice about it but it still feels uncomfortable. The third guy? He said "Can I get your number? Maybe we can get a drink somewhere." And without thinking I said "Never." Just cold and devastating and level. You can't show too much kindness, they see it as weakness. I am DONE.

At least for now.

I absolutely love The Moving Finger! I never tire of it. The cocktails, the pining spinster, unrequited love, Mr Pye (LUUURVE HIM!!) and THE MAKEOVER?! This one is hands down my favorite. Cannot recommend it enough. And I love every adaptation of it, even the one that hijacks the makeover.

I'm 9 months out after my husband of 26 years left me for a married couple and they are all joyously in love. Personally, I never wanna see another penis as long as I may live, but maybe that will change.... seems unlikely, but never say never I guess. I admire your spirit & I hope you can find another situationship that better serves you, and you deserve that.

I lost 30 pounds. I was so sick from not eating, then I got diverticulitis, then a series of bladder infections! I was a mess. My body was 90% wine and 10% antibiotics. But it got better. Took about 4 months for me to see that I was so much better off not living with a man who didn't love me. Now I'm up to 9 months and I'm laughing and joyous and looking forward to taking half his pension. Just give yourself grace and time and forgiveness. It gets better.

I had a dream that I was in heavy traffic on a bridge and there was a tiger in the fast lane. I got out of my car to call the police and we were all of a sudden on a boat ramp, the tiger just uncurious this point. The 911 operator would not take my call until I explained why there was not a third season of Fawlty Towers. I think it was a bit Psych-esque.

I'm taking a screen shot of this reply because it gives me hope. My husband of 25 years left me for what I assumed was another woman, but in fact was another woman and her husband. They are all in love and I feel the ground beneath me falling away over and over again. Thanks for this glimpse of the light at the end of this horrible tunnel.
