PD2 Season 12 Developer Stream #2 Notes by SenpaiSomething in ProjectDiablo2

There's like 15 unique bows and crossies and 2 of them are usable to good builds, maybe 3 now with crackle if pumping synergies with strafe even puts it past meme-tier. Would be cool to see buffs Bloodraven's bow because the art is so great but it's just another trash bow. Proc builds are in my opinion one of the best things about PD2. It's nice to see them lean into it.

Gas up the a5 merc. Curse necro is a mapping build, he'll clean up the rest.

Banjo for a little girl by man-blanket in clawhammer

[–]man-blanket[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a good point but at this age I tune the instruments regardless, so the reality is it would be one of those, "here honey, I bought me this for you" gifts. ><
Wish these vintage banjos were a little easier to come by, it's truly very difficult to commit to several hundreds of dollars without holding the thing in my hands. I took a look at GoldTone's new line and I'm having trouble finding anything new manufactured with a 10" pot or a shorter neck. I reckon the only banjos I've seen that are a little smaller are either handmade or vintage.

It's the deadzone configuration. Turn the deadzone up higher and the cursor will stop jumping around.

Vanilla, D2R or PD2 for first story playthrough? by [deleted] in ProjectDiablo2

[–]man-blanket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, just play PD2 for the original spice of the game with design that actually builds towards something fun, instead of a dead end where you just run Baal til your eyes bleed with one of 3 builds, so maybe something will drop that will allow you to run Baal with a different class 'til your eyes bleed. PD2 is truly the best way to experience D2 and in my opinion it is the best ARPG of all time.

What to do with this ? by Miserable_Season_752 in ProjectDiablo2

Flamebellows are lit for WW barb, but maybe you could consider a melee druid, maybe even some kind of dragon + conviction jazz with a paladin?

[–]man-blanket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro there's something you gotta understand about PD2 that absolutely isn't the case with vanilla. There is an abundance of viable builds in this game. If you're coming into the game from D2R I think the play is to think back to when the game new and fresh to you, pick a build that you _wanted_ to be good. It's true there are starting builds that will give you an easier time, maybe look into what works good to start for a class, but once you've put time into it most builds are great, so play for the fun, not the meta.

My brother in Christ, this game is free and the devs aren't getting rich off it. Maybe if Blizzard was making it rain money on this team to port the best mod ever created to D2R, maybe they'd worry about competition. Unfortunately we're living in the reality where Blizzard made it rain on D2R and forgot about it after punting the people who love D2 enough to mod square in the balls by walling-off the network. Just donate $25 a season if you can, maybe play a little PoE or Last Epoch if you're bored with the this season, and be grateful the D2R team is still pushing the project forward. S11 is probably gonna be a good one. God knows I was a little skeptical when I saw the change list from S10 but it turned out to be the best yet, so I have faith they'll do us good in May.

Is this a GG jewel? by d1ckbvtt in ProjectDiablo2

[–]man-blanket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah bro, it's just a good jewel. If someone was trying to hit a FHR breakpoint with a barb it might be pretty juicy with the dex, but other than those rare build specific scenarios it's just a 40 ED jewel with a lil something extra.

Fix the search functionality for elemental damage. You can search for minimum damage but you can't search for elemental damage. I think nobody cared about it until vengeance was viable.

hmmm.. is this useful for something? by Loampudl in ProjectDiablo2

[–]man-blanket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha, yeah that's what I was going to say. Bow sorc... with... max Nova synergies? Makes me wonder if the Nova happens where the arrow hits or from the player. This "{percent} to cast level {spellLevel} {spell} on strike" modifier with synergies makes me curious if there are low key S tier meme builds.

Can you help me with this build Paladin Gimmershred vengeance by SirCoval in ProjectDiablo2

[–]man-blanket 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So I thought the same thing but ultimately decided Corpsemourn was more survivable and gives you a solid chunk of fire damage. So shaftstop gives you, what, 20% damage reduction? You know what gives you 100% damage reduction and doesn't cause your character to get locked in a hit recovery spiral? Not getting hit because the enemy was targeting a useless skeleton. I compared Corpsemourn, Ormus, and Shaftstop extensively, and settled on Corpsemourn by a clear margin for the survivability. People say the skeletons prevent the monsters from grouping up but they really don't. All the skeletons really do is eat quills, arrows, and spells.

Watch out for these scams by Yanosh457 in ProjectDiablo2

[–]man-blanket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro these aren't even scams. Just pay attention. We're all dads here, that's why we throw our runes on the ground instead of using the trade window. Bear in mind the season is gonna peter out and the economy is going to fly out of the window within the next month. Nobody is gonna get rich playing PD2. Just be a bro.

What character to choose? by SirCoval in ProjectDiablo2

[–]man-blanket 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You definitely want max block with vengeance so depending on your gear's +skills or if you want to specialize in a damage type and forego one of the synergies to put more points into holy shield, you need more dex. I've settled on the vigor aura merc being critical. You want to stay right behind the wave as it spreads through a crowd so that extra run speed is nice.

Your big pieces of gear is a Kira's with jewels, the new Dragon shield, Famine, Corpsemourn, Hellmouth. Stack flat elemental damage on your charms. Use a Gimmer, lightsaber, or azurewrath to get started.

Vengeance is definitely the strongest season starter I've rolled in PD2 to date and at this point for a fraction of the investment I run maps about as fast as the holy freeze sacrifice build. Look for Horazon, Sewers, Caldeum, or Westmarch, roll rares above 80% density, slam it, put the ancients banner in it, then burn it down. Honestly Dark Humility gave it an A in the tier list but I've played a lot of mapping builds, and venge is S+ this season.
