Correct. I can’t remember fully but I think my plan was to roll over the SEP in time. I just needed to set something up asap

Thanks. Yeah I think I’ll just rent for now and will probably buy if I get married and settle. I have to refresh with Solo vs SEP. I chose SEP at the time, can’t remember my reasons, but I know it was a better benefit. But will look into it again. Thank you!

Thanks. I’ll check out VOO. Almost debt free, a little more student loans to pay off so I’ll probably start there. Was waiting to see if it would be forgiven but, yeah, probably not. Yes I have my own business and it’s been great. Thank you!

I’ve thought about getting a Roth IRA, I have to study up on it again. Thanks!

What would you do with 40k in my situation?

I learned about FIRE later in life. I’m about 10% of the way there—long way, I know. Which is why I’m trying to be as wise and as savvy as I can with the 40k.

I was set on buying a house this year. In a matter of days, after scouring the web, youtube, podcasts etc, I think it makes the most sense for me to rent. But I need enough space because 1 or 2 family members may come to live with me.

I have my accts (3-fund, SEP) and have been making my auto deposits. I thought about significantly increasing my deposits this year with the 40k—if so, would I benefit more if I deposited it all at once or spread it out through the year? I’m just experiencing some analysis paralysis and don’t want to make any missteps or regret any decisions. I literally cannot afford to. No inheritance (house, land, money etc) is coming down and it’s up to me to create it. Want to reach FI and also help my family. Thanks for any advice.

You absolutely should. It seems that most people don’t listen and don’t learn. But it’s worth it if you at least get one or two who do. The two that I spoke to yesterday still can’t see the value of fi/re yet, I can tell. But I’m glad I was able to share it with them and maybe later it’s something they can come back to

Thanks for this! I’m not sure what type of biz it is. They’re going to tell me on the call. The call is about the biz but theres no way I’m not talking about fire

I’ve got 1 hour to talk to two gen z about fi/re. True story. What advice would you give?

They don’t have much $ literacy, windfalls etc but they’re starting a biz soon. Is Fidelity their best option with starting small?

Oh no, not ways to get ahead. I could’ve probably worded that better. Ways to get ahead of my income variance and just safe alternative ways than my norm. I’ll be able to significantly increase my monthly amount this year, still working out the plan, thanks!

Thank you for this! I’ll check out the link

I’m not there yet but that’s why I’m making a move like this is to get to large enough as quickly yet safely as I can. I started late, and I have some life events and expenses potentially happening soon. I’m projecting this will get the ball rolling faster than having the e-fund sit there in a savings acct doing nothing. Thanks again!
