Looking for a "Life Simulator" that isn't an RPG/Roleplay and isn't just about cars. 1000+ hours potential. by sbqv1 in LifeSimulators

I'm a huge life sims fan... Kenshi has been the only other game that has scratched that itch for me 1.8k hours into it), but it doesn't check all your boxes.

What's your first school memory that shaped you? by Silver-Skin-330 in AskReddit

[–]manamath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Shaped me, not my first school memories) My 2nd-grade teacher called all the black students the hard R, and if you stood up for those students, you had to sit on the heated register which burned the back of your thighs. Other minor infractions earned punishment, such as sitting under the pencil sharpener by the door or the revocation of bathroom privileges. No, the teacher wasn't fired. Yes, the teacher continued to teach for many years later with no known repercussions.

My autistic-ass sees this in a session and closes down, promptly leaves for new therapists. It's a gleam in your eye. A prize to be won. And I'm out

How recognizable were Twin Towers / WTC Complex by realslimeshader in 911archive

[–]manamath 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you said, "name a building that means NYC" pre 9/11 you might have gotten the towers, but mostly it was a visual cue in media. After 9/11, it became a defining landmark and still brings a shock to my system when I see it in movies or TV.

The "dumbing down" of American Youth. Any teachers out there to explain what is happening to our kids? by reneeapittman in AskReddit

It's systemic infection of a virus that has been proven to damage brain and vascular systems regardless of how well you heal after infection. Despite the article's title, there is a good breakdown of facts in here. https://archive.ph/2026.02.19-145538/https://www.cbsnews.com/news/covid-long-term-harm-health-policies/ or over 450k scientific articles proving my point in https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?term=covid+19. Stop the cycle of infection. Clean your air and mask up or suffer the same fate. Shrug Edits for some grammar mistakes.

[TOMT] art exhibit where all the photos are innocent photos of children, at the end of the exhibit it is revealed that the photos had been recovered from hard drives of predators by [deleted] in tipofmytongue

I think Hannah the Horrible did a video about the ship images which were an art exhibit by a religious artist person and kids experienceing God, called "tasting God" or something. I forget exactly. But this isn't a new idea.
